Anyone here ever used chain oil for rust coating?

It smells like rancid shit for a week, but the gel-ish substance stays on a lot harder and protects much better

Chain oil isn't that great at staying on. Its more there for lubrication and keeping shit off the chain.

Most of the mainstream brands you have to reapply if you've run through rain, or after every 500 miles or so.
