I bought some spray paint that matched the headliner in my XJ and painted thumb tacks and it looks decent. It's my off-road toy so I don't care too much though.

it's really not that tough to redo, taking it in and out is the toughest part but with another person it's not bad. Scrape off old, spray glue on new fabric of your choosing. Good for another 30 years.
