Depends on the rat rod. Had a 52 f5 dump truck. We had to shorten the frame, and realign a new rear end, fit fabricate and install a modern engine and transmission, and frabricate new brakes and cooling and fuel systems as well as all the wiring just to get it on the road. Everything was fabricate from scratch, repurposed scrap, and hand-me-down free stuff. Traded scrap aluminum and copper for the cab and rails

Legit rat rods are cool. Boomer turds with airbrushed rust and modern crate motors are not.
