I would have preferred the manual, but the only S I had found was a silver one in Lexington (150mi away) and it had been in a rear end collision.

Its not bad. The 7AT is pretty quick and has paddles, so i dont miss it so much. Every once in a while it has to think about a gear but only when i punch it right after it upshifted.

if you can afford the costs of repairs, it's absolutely worth it. Better yet, work on it yourself. Recently changed the valve cover gaskets on it myself, as well as the fuel pump and fuel filter. Valve covers were a bitch, but saved about 1200 by just dedicating a saturday to it.

Alright, let's just dump everything:
-AC is working
-Brakes working properly for the first time ever after replacing the rotors (Were skipping and shaking the steering wheel)
-Three dents total, all about the size of a nickel and pristine paint
-Both bumpers have bad clear coat failure
-Stock 94' Formula wheels on the rear, still with WELD wheels on the front
-235/60R16 Hankook Optimo H724s rear, 195/60R15 Hercules Tour 4.0s front
-Brake light: ON
-Cracked Dash
-205,671.3 Miles
-Cost $900 to buy
-Has cost me $3074.21 (including purchase) total with gas and insurance included
-EGR Valves 1+3 were clogged, cleaned them out Sunday
-0.25" Spacers on the front to make the wheels work instead of doing what the PO did and welding them to the calipers (pics if desired)
-K&N Cone Air Filter just kind of sitting at the top of the engine bay loose. Held down by the hood when driving. Which is moderately interesting considering that the car sucks air up from the bottom, meaning this setup is literally the worst it could be.
-Intake Manifold gasket was fucking destroyed and had to be replaced for $400
-Rebuilt 36K ago (when purchased) with papers... Yet the intake manifold gasket was already fucked? Fishy.
-Had an aftermarket Kenwood radio "installed" that could not have possibly worked due to never having a constant 12V power run to it.
-Headlight motors have metal gears instead of plastic ones
-Cracked passenger turn signal
-AMAZING aftermarket exhaust, 3.4L does sound a lot better than the 3.8L in the later models.
-Rear hatch does not open

Yeah, every mustang, even the V6 from 2011 onwards has LSD, it's pretty easy to do burnouts with the 305hp, and pretty fun too, plus it handles really, really well with the suspension upgraded and the 255/40/r19 tires.

Black Firebirds look pretty badass, grey/silver is nice too, although I prefer Red, I've seen lots of red Firebirds but still, it really shines with that colour.

is e46 a good first car for someone not living in us(live in the balkans)

I don't think even the factory v8 ever fit under the hood without a scoop on capris. That scoop is from an earlier model and the PO had it held down by just 3m tape an one bolt in the middle of the back. I need to pull it off and drill some new holes in the hood to match up and I want to take it to a professional auto paint shop to get a real mirror black finish on it before I reinstall it.

I'm not 100% sure honestly if it's the compressor or not yet but I have a feeling it is. The AC only works sometimes, and if it does work it will start blowing hot within 40-60 minutes of continuous use. If I turn the AC off then back on it wont blow cold again. I am buying some manifold gauges tomorrow to see what the low/high pressures are at and going from there.

It's not that hard to drive one. Hell, I drove one for two months and everything was just fine and dandy. Just a little more of things to keep yo ubusy, but manageable.

Is the ASG transmission a pain in the ass? A tad. Changing gear every 2000 rpm, stubborn if you don't respect it, letting the RPMs go higher while you pretty much is stuck on the same velocity. It's got some tricks and particularities - but very car has their own.

Is the general consensus that buying something semi-brand new is better? Yes, no doubt of that. I said brazilian manual cars suck dicks because here they're usually linked to the lower trim versions, and automatic models are the 'luxury' ones. Only recent vehicles have improved to a point that, semi-brand new and brand new cars all have a decent level of equipment (A/C, ABS and airbags, power windows, power seering).

Yes, you are lucky. You can buy better things with 10k than we can. And you were probably lucky o nthe speeding tickets too. There are well known hotspots of speed radars and of cops that like writing tickets.
