Yup, when you plant the throttle vacuum drops which is the primary factor of movement of pre-mixed air and fuel into the combustion chamber which is why many carbs have varying methods of amplifying airflow through the intake during low vacuum.
Fuel injection still injects no matter where the throttle is, in the case of tbi it's sucked down like a carb but no tbi uses the variety of tricks that carburetors have to to get air through the engine. Stay btfo.
