I have a great technical road like 15km from me. it's better than said racetrack.
this road has both uphill and downhill mixed and it's twisty as fuck, one turn into another, very few straights where you can get to 120km/h. fastest turns are 80kmh at best and slowest are hairpins with some elevation.

I'm a poorfuck, but am feeling like I'll get into stuff like this since I'm almost done with school, will be making money, and buying fast cars to track around with looks a lot more fun than the school kid street racing I see around here.

Anyone ever been to NOLA motorsports park for a track day? IIRC it's like <$300 for the day, and seems like a good track from videos.

I just replaced all the ball joints and bushings, and installed some koni str.t shocks. It sounds like you went pretty far into your car suspension which is something I never have, i focused more on the drive train as I drag race sometimes. start at local autox with a ride along instructor. from there you can ask around about tips and stuff, and maybe find info about track days nearby. that's pretty much what i did and I've been doing this for about a year or so with my cars.

>sit close enough to your steering wheel so your hands are at 9 + 3 and you have a bend in your elbow so you can comfortably get a lot of rotation on steering wheel
>obviously don't get too close
>heel toe on the streets is way different from heel toe on the track when you're coming in way hotter
>turn off traction control (i guess you could argue for this either way, but i prefer off)
>don't coast on the track - you're either shifting gears, braking, or on the gas
>don't stab the brakes to 100%
>smooth throttle controls - know when you can start accelerating
>if you ever feel you are about to spin 2 feet in - clutch and brake
>in long sweepers at high speed if you suddenly let off the throttle your car is going to want to rotate
>sometimes you load up the brakes to get more weight on the front to help you turn in

these are just general tips i've learned from drivers meetings, talking to pros, and listening to instructors.
