Is running an open downpipe a good idea? Seems like a cheap way to reduce exhaust restriction.
I have a Mazdaspeed Protege if that makes a difference (pic related is the car, but not mine)

Sounds like a great idea to me. You should definitely do it.
>>17343156
Try it and find out.

>implying the FS turbo can make some power
Yeah go for it, dipshit
>>17343202
It's just my dd, but if I can get it a bit more power (especially for cheap) that'd be cool.

Use better bait next time cunt

It's not the downpipe you wanted, but lots of buses here have exhaust pipes aimed downwards in front of the rear wheels. That helps blow out away some of the water.

I'm being serious. Is it a bad idea?
>>17343251
For a daily it is
>>17343253
Good to know. How come?
>>17343263
Google it, I'm done spoon-feeding you
>>17343265
I have, the only downside I saw was reduced back pressure, which to my understanding reduces low end power.
>>17343274
Oh yeah man, you don't wanna do that
>>17343279
Ok thanks for the info.
The aftermarket for this car is small, so everything's really expensive. Like, a full exhaust will cost over $1000.
Guess I'll just have to start saving lol.
>>17343284
Yeah man, totally

Last question
Do you enjoy riding the bus?
>>17343309
What?
I assume it will somehow wreck my car and I'll have to take the bus?
>be OP
>remove exhaust
>car is now unbearably loud and drives like shit at low RPM
>his neighbours hate him because his car is so fucking loud
>hasn't done shit for performance because changing your exhaust isn't a power adder, it's a supporting mod
Don't modify your daily. Daily driven cars work because they're reliable and quiet and all the things your weekend car isn't.
There you go OP, I've spoonfed you all you need to know.
