Is it worth to buy it? Mileage seems too hugh
Talk him down on price. That would be a great cheap truck
Besides needing tires and a new windshield, which won't be free, it looks like the interior is probably trashed
No more than $500, if it runs well

lol what an idiot
also, stay the fuck away from chevys below 1996
you need that obd2 when all those GM components start failing
This makes me think.
I want to get one of these for relatively cheap, and swap a solid front axle under it and put a Cummins 12 valve into it.
I think that would be an awesome project

Offer 500...
>>17333496
It's been done 100 times but the cost of the Cummins swap offsets any idea of "cheap", especially when combined with an SFA swap.
>>17333538
Right. The host vehicle would be cheaper than the cummins. It's not a bad thing, especially if I could find a rust free 2500

Suburban is $500-3500 depending on configuration and condition. Generally a Cummins donor is $6000 minimum, let's say you get lucky and sell off what you don't need to pay for the custom conversion stuff. Then there's the SFA, that's another $2000-3500 depending on what you can find, condition, gears, whether you need a rear axle to go with it, etc.
Pretty soon you've dumped $9000 in mods into a $500 Suburban and you still need paint and an interior. If you plan to keep it forever, it doesn't really matter but it's surely no investment. You'd be better off finding a 6.5 diesel Suburban and putting $500-1000 into making it a 500k+ motor. The 6.5s carry a bad reputation over stuff that's extremely easy to fix so you can get them for far cheaper than you should be able to. 6BT on the other hand is 50% better and 500x the cost. It just doesn't add up.

All good points. Maybe I'm a dumbass but I don't look at it as an investment. I'd love to do it right and hold onto it for a long time.
I do need to learn more about the 6.5 now

What about this one? I just need a car for 4 months
>>17333090
No. buy a mint one instead.
>>17335605
Why do you only need a vehicle for 4 months? Why can you only spend $1800? Why are you buying something so big and inefficient? Rethink your life.
>>17335709
I'm in the US just for the summer. And yes, I need a big car.
>>17335709
I need a 4wd, or at least high clearance vehicle which seats 7-8 and is cheap.
