Why isnt the R31 a meme car like the later models?
>>17329378
Because ricer faggots don't know it exists
>>17329378
Because there is no JEE TEE ARU
It is.
It's basically one of the first cars someone into japanese cars gets when they first start driving.

people want this much for a run down R32 that isnt even the GTR.
R31 ex pace car in bathurst spec.
>>17329388
R32?
>>17329393
Nah, you get a VL/ Pintara or a shitty old R31
I love it
>>17329396
ke70 and corona are becoming popular now too.
It used to be geminis and commodores in the early 2000s but all the normies like Japanese cars now.
Although geminis are technically Japanese people are too dumb to realise and they are tainted good from the autosalon era.
>>17329385
Yeah but there is the awesome GEE TEE ESS ARU.
Personally I love the R30 and R31 both OP (later models too but that's not the point of it), but like this anon said, lack of GT-R and like another anon, people don't know about it was much as they do the later models.
>>17329378
>RWD only
>No RB26DETT
>No "Muh Group A prestige"
Pretty simple really.
>>17329419
wut?
>>17329435
I like to think that the charade is beating the foxbody mustang
>>17329435
I think he means that it raced but didn't win every single race in a season like the R32
arent they popular dorifto cars?
>>17329445
everyone else crashed when the r32 won.
>>17329460
arsehole
>>17329439
That's a Corolla, Anon.
1969 GT-R up in this bitch.
>>17329378
Becuase plebs don't know about it.
Probably a good thing too.
>>17329378
Because it looks like a British rustang.
>>17331355
I love how old school Japanese muscle cars are like alternate universe American muscle cars.
>>17332008
I, too, love the phenomenon.
>Pic: 1973 GT-R
>>17332008
That`s just 60s/70s car design though.
>Americans believe they invented everything
>>17329378
R31 looks like a volvo fucked a 5.slow mustang.
>>17329390
I thought Skylines were cheap in upside down land.
True patrician hours.
>>17329406
jej
>>17329378
Because the Fast & Furious movies didn't shill for it, so underage ricefags don't know or care it exists because it's not a R32 or R35z
>>17332595
>>17332595
Gran Turismo had me admiring Skylines before TFaTF even came out.
>>17329378
My highschool physics teacher drive one of these. He was a ~60 year old Japanese guy and I swear to god we saw him go sideways out of the carpark one day.
>>17332173
they are, somewhat. it all depends on the model and condition.

god that thing is fucking ugly
>>17329378
late r30s and all r31s are amazing
those tail lights are god tier
>>17332643
Made me smile anon
>>17332149
>>17332871
>>17331954
so how long have you been blind?
I guess it's because they don't look as good or as "Japanese" as the later models.
>>17332871
Yeah I love how everything had to be boxy because 80's so they just put the circle lights in a box.
The wagons were cool as well
>>17332584
>>17329406
>Not buying the best version
>>17332112
i just watched a documentary about the 240z where they talked about this.
the japanese took a lot of cues from other car companies.
they don't look similar by accident.
>>17329460
guess they couldn't withstand shingami's side press
>>17332962
Anyone else see a beared man skitching on the back of the car in the thumbnail
R31's were just plain awful. At least the Z31 was a 6 cylinder
>>17334325
dr30>mk3
Learned to drive in an R31, still own it over ten years later. Great fucking car.
>>17334325
The R31 did have a six cylinder though?
>>17329435
haha dude I fucking saw that skyline at Lakeside Raceway on Sunday, I was working in the tower there.
>>17334325
R31 had the RB30 you fucking pleb, are you thinking of the Pintara?
>>17334325
The R31 had plenty of Six cylinder options.
RB20's mostly, various turbo charged versions in the GTS, GTS-X, and not to mention the RB20DET-R for the GTS-R, then for aussie market the RB30 was available as well.
Yeah there were CA18's (SOCH, Carburated ones at that) available on R31 Skylines, as well, but most upper end models had inline sixes, in fact only the most low end models came with them.
>>17332008
Yup. Like the A30 Celicas, basically ripped off Mustangs.
Love the fact they put one in Rush when they were racing at Suzuka.
>>17333454
>that's the best version
>>17331607
Every pleb knows about the r31.
They are typically driven by teenagers who recenly graduated public high school and wear their caps backwards.
>>17332112
They litterally did copy american design though.
For example look at how celica lift backs look like mustangs that were designed earlier.
Look at how 70's now lift back celicas look like late 60's camaros.
>>17332948
Retarded post.
R31s always have cheap dodgey mods.
Particularly the aus delivered ones.
How the fuck do people not think one of the most common first cars for broke p plate hoons isn't a meme car?
Typical p plate r31 hoon car.
I would absolutely love one, but I never seen one for sale in the UK
>>17332633
This also Bathhurst is what got me liking the R32 not a shitty movie.
