You can get an e36 for like $1000 on a bad day. I bought mine for $600.

Used Infiniti G35 but they're kind of shit. Or you can get s197 mustang GT, they're pretty fun.

First off, you are gonna take it to the track that's a fact.
Secondly just buy a SN95 they can be found for dirt money and easy to work on so when it sits in your drive for 7 months because you haven't gone to the track it'll still run

Can you deal with down time for your DD?

Having one car to do it all gets hard. You break stuff, you need to run to the store. At least get a bike and a car so you aren't completely fucked when you toast your top end at the track.
