Totally didn't lose points for forgetting to go back in to drive after backing around a corner... At least the instructor got a chuckle out of it.

Mine was a 2005 Chevrolet Malibu I think. I remember my first day of driving class got cancelled because this psycho kid shot up the police station next to my school, killing a female officer.

I did it in this, only got penalized for not stopping fully at a stop sign. Parking and narrow maneuvers were perfect and I was really proud of myself

My father forced my to start driving in his truck, because it makes everything small easier. Going from a massive Tundra to a Soul is amazing. I can park next to people in it. Nuts.

That's been my experience too. Everything feels like a clown car compared to the burb, and the maneuvers I pull in it are a real art form. It's like making an elephant dance.

Absolutely zero of the dents in it are from me. Every time I let my boomer parents borrow it it came back with all kinds of "I don't give a shit about anything but me" damage - tailgate, side dents, bumper creases, etc

Same story with my Montero.

Parents just don't give a shit about my property.
>>
>>17309786
Those dents on the side are the real "fuck you I'm a narcissist" send-off from my dad, I got it back like that after he filed for divorce from my mom. The story he gave is it was a "deer" but it looks like he just punched and kicked it.

I will never understand the kind of self absorption it takes to open your car door and hit another parked car and go "not my problem"
>>
>>17309778
Unless it's theirs, kill them.
>>
In yurop we cant pass the exam with a car we own, we have to use what they give us at the exam. Mostly its a Yaris or Punto. I had a Yaris.

I really should amend it to just my boomer dad and thankfully I've cut him out of my life. My mom is a much kinder person and this originally was her car so I can't fault her.

This. I liked it so much I bought myself one after I passed.

My fathers Tundra has a dent just like that from my sister. Literally in that exact spot. I'm going to be driving my mothers Pilot from Chicago to SC and I anticipate it will be the same experience.
It really is astonishing. The other cool part is sitting so far up. I'm a foot above the ground in a Soul, then get into the Tundra and I'm able to touch the sky.
>>17309786
>>17309804
>>17309806
That is terrible. Thankfully I've never dealt with that.
>>
>>17309804
Well, the dents done to my SUV were never in bad intention. My dad just likes to live on the fast lane and always rushes in and out of the gated, ramped driveway clipping the railings and the gate.

Still irritates me though, but I pretty much don't care anymore, it's so beat to shit anyway.
>>
>>17309814

I hated that thing

Passed my test in a new (for then) Ford Focus.
I was with a major driving school, so the instructor leased dual-control cars with all the signwriting and vinyl wraps already done. It was a pretty nice car, and helped teach me to drive a proper car and not a tiny econobox.

Ended up buying a Focus myself when the time came for my first new-ish car.
>>
felt like a boat for a hatchback. diesel though so made the test way easier
>>
>>17309940
jesus christ, what a shitbox
>>
>>17311383
only thing i miss about this thing from my test/lessons is the power.

indeed felt like a boat, and to me it felt like a big car but I think i just find it difficult to judge how close the car is to things

i just want that power and being able to just use clutch control in heavy traffic in my corsa

did the clutch on the one you drove feel like you had to press really hard?
>>
>>17311425
i don't really remember the clutch, it seemed to grab everywhere though so i didn't really have a problem. my 1.4 corsa petrol is much nicer to drive, but apparently the 1.2s are a little weak, so i can see how the i30 would be better in that situation.

3rd gen toyota yaris, since it was an examination standard car over here couple of years ago. God was it an underpowered shitbox, I hated it

Gud Jerb! Here driving a standard for your permit is a major PITA. If you shift during a turn it's a mark, if you shift with too many rpms you get a mark. If you don't downshift you get a mark. You get 4 marks and it's a fail.
Pic related for my G2 but an 88. Full G was a 87 Tercel 4wd both auto because I'm not into S&M.
>>
My driving teacher had 2 cars to choose from, a GTR, and a Corvette. I normally picked the Corvette because it's vastly superior
