Why do people say that you can accidentally loop yourself with a 600? This is the biggest load of baloney I have heard in years. I do have an older 600 with only 100 to the wheel but the only chance this bike ever has at anything resembling a wheelie is cracking it wide open in first after loading the suspension and swinging your weight back.

Sorry sweetie, but you wont loop yourself on a 600.

fuckin redditors man

they are the worst
>>
>>17305274
The reason it's not recommended to start on a 600 is because you'll likely end up like that that yammienoob fag and delet your bike into a Porsche.
>>
>>17305274
You need to be experience to do this. Too many n00bs attempt a loop with a 600 and fail.

try to perfect your acceleration and change gears the smoother you can.
what motorcycle do you got?
>>
>>17305258

It's fine anon, that's the natural cycle of things. As you gain experience and maturity on a motorcycle, you start to appreciate qualities that weren't important to you before.

For the first few years of riding dual sports on the road, hooning about, doing wheelies, and romping over curbs like an asshole, I thought it was the ideal bike and I'd never want any other style of motorcycle. I took it on long trips, and it wasn't particularly comfortable to do so, but I told myself I was a more "pure" rider for just doing it and not complaining. Not giving in to "slow" and "creature comforts".

A few years go by and I started thinking about how nice it would be to go on some long distance rides without having to get off and massage my ass every 100 miles or shake the numbness out of my thoroughly vibrated hands. Could never bring myself to sell the dual sport, but I bought an old Goldwing on a whim that was listed in the local classifieds and have zero regrets. I'm still planning on adding a supersport for the track, but there's no replacement for a comfy touring bike or cruiser. Plus, I can actually afford to have two or three bikes now where I certainly couldn't when I was younger.

m8 it wouldn't be that hard for me to loop myself on my 650cc 40hp dual sport if I went full retard on a launch or in first gear.

Novice riders trying to push the limits can wreck themselves on anything.

Not being able to safely ride on the freeway is a bit of a pain in the ass. 55 mph is pretty much the top safe speed. I've had it up to 72 mph, but that involving tucking it like a MotoGP, on a downhill, in 40° F air. Have trouble maintaining 55 in hilly areas.

>>
>>17305274
How did I loop this piece of shit? By being a shit rider. Now lets take a bike with four times the power and same weight and see what happens.
>>
>>17305396

My thumper vibrates the mirrors so badly at speed that all you see is the general blurry shape of any object.

When I see a vehicle in my mirrors that might be a cop, I have to grab the mirror and hold it to dampen the vibes enough to see if it has lights or markings of any kind.

I haven't found a fix.

My bike is more of a "Touring Standard" than a cruiser in the 1940's style V-twin that generally defines cruisers, but I wear a full face helmet 100% of the time. On that bike, gloves probably 80% of the time, boots 80% of the time. I'd wear a jacket 90% of the time or so, but my old cheapshit jacket doesn't fit any more and I'm currently saving for a quality new jacket.

My dual sport I wear helmet and gloves 100% of the time and boots if I'm going anywhere but the grocery store. Same story on the jacket.

Bit of a niche,

popular with the boomers. Think Ducati scrambler before the Ducati scrambler.

Modern renditions are relatively expensive to buy, performance isn't anything to write home about. The twinny is at it's last legs, getting more wheezy with every new round of Euro environmental restrictions.

Old ones aren't too shabby. Reliable work horse which doesn't ask for much. Nato over here used them.

Seems they are comfortable being in the margin and Piaggo group is letting them stay there.

Not bad bikes that. Pretty too.

so, can anyone confirm that the fuel pump gets a signal from the ignition coil to pump fuel from this diagram?
Long story, but from what I'm told the ignition coil, at certain rmps, send a signal to the fuel pump relay and that activates the fuel pump. Until that, the pump simply acts as a gravity pump (from what ive researched.)

Can anyone confirm ANYTHING I've said?

I wear a full face and jacket. Most of the old fucks I see on Harleys don't wear full faces or even any gear. Once I saw a ~60 something man wearing an open leather vest with nothing under it, an open face, and smoking a cigar. He even had a fucking Harley logo on one of his arms. Strange that someone can accrue so much life experience and still be so caught up in "looking cool" even at the expense of their own safety.

also, the bike will start and idle (did before i took the fucker apart, need gas to make sure it still starts)

But it still started and idled very well, when you reved the bike it leaned out and would die.
took the carbs aparts, cleaned up, new fuel pump relay, tested the pump with 12v power straight to the pump and it works, so im hoping everything works.

correct me if im wrong, but if the ic igniter was bad it wouldn't idle right?

The CDI provides power to the coils when it's time for them to fire. Your CDI is wired to both your coils and your fuel pump relay, so I would assume that at a certain RPM, your fuel pump relay eventually receives enough power to open, and activate the pump, like you said.

If your CDI were bad, you bike wouldn't even run. What is the actual electrical issue you're having?

bike didnt want to rev over 3500-4000rpm (what the internet tells me is when the fuel pump is supposed to kick on)

pulled the relay, did an ohm reading of it and got literally nothing. Ordered a new oem relay, installed it, and put the bike mostly back together.

Im just lookning for someone to basically say either "yea, it should run correctly when you put gas in it" or 'nah, you have bigger problems'

Could be a vacuum leak somewhere, my last ninja 250 all of a sudden wouldn't rev over 6k until I cleaned the carb. Could be a dead fuel pump. Could be a clogged fuel filter. Could be your coil or CDI is shot and can't fire fast enough but it's more likely fuel.
>>
>>17306370
Also, just because your fuel pump turns on doesn't mean it's working, they usually die slowly.

Hey guys

'83 CB450SC anon here. Idk if you guys remember, but I picked up this bike for $560 3 weeks ago in not-running condition.

$18 later and I got it to run today.

Bad starter solenoid and semi-seized starter. After using my car battery to send 725 CCA to the starter, the thing started up. Put two fresh gallons of gas in and it's running great.

Onto the cosmetics and then insuring it.

I'm very happy. I'll post better photos someday.

Thank you to the anon who suggested checking the starter solenoid.

Also potentially getting a job out in Arizona. If the interview goes well, I plan on riding the bike from New York City to AZ.

If it breaks I'll take a plane to finish out the journey.
>>

>>
>>17306388
i havent found any vacuum leaks, the fuel pump seems good so im hoping i dont need another, the fuel filter is brand new, coils seem good, and if my cdi was back my bike would be fucked.

Bro, I am telling you right now that it is a complete meme. My bike is 100hp at the wheel with 44 ft/lb of torque. The only possible way to get this bike's front wheel in the air is to let off the throttle at around 11k rpm in 1st and then crack it open again while swinging your weight back. That is it. It wont even come close to coming up under hard acceleration or any other way

Apparently I have a very bad spark plug boot, and it is arcing to the cylinder head.

It is too late to wrenching tonight (this morning?), but tomorrow I'll pop the plug out and have a look. It would be a tad bit upsetting to find that my saucy little baiku had only been giving me half of her charm.

I straight told my friend why, he's an idiot and I'd rather he not die.
Would be nice to get a few rides with him in before that happens.
He never ended up going through with it anyway cause I basically forbid him from getting a TL1000, so he got dejected and gave up

could be many thing, people that fat where i live are like circus freaks they just don't exist though.

I think they get that fat because they eat more food than calories they burn + the fact that they have enough energy stored in their fat that they could probably get away without eating for a few months and still have fat to burn but they still keep eating excessive amounts of food.

Things like you do not need 3 full sized meals in a day if you are doing literally nothing but sit on your arse at a computer, thats just asking to get fat.

That and fat people seem to think you ALWAYS need some food in your stomach, them tummy rumbles are like being stabbed for a fat person....

Basically they are delusional retards.

Britbikes and krautbikes aren't sporting round lights anymore either.

Companies now have the manufacturing abilities and cash to front for safety certifiications necessary to ditch parts bin lights, so their retarded designers have full freedom over the end result.

Because they get to that stage where normal people go "wow enough of that now" only they keep going.

Then they blame medical conditions and a bad metabolism for them being fat, news flash if you have 100kg of fat stored around your body, yeah your body aint gonna burn off that 5000 calorie meal you just ate in any hurry.

>>
>>17307274
I used to think the same thing, but I understand now.
I'm literally never satiated. I have free food at work all day, my job is mentally taxing. I get up every hour or two and wanna grab a snack from the kitchen. I can easily eat two meals at a restaurant without feeling full. It wasn't like this back in college. I've gained about 5 lbs recently so I'm making an effort to cut down, but I understand the feeling. It's a hell of a lot more satisfying to grab a bag of chips and a can of light soda from the fridge three times a day than go for a walk or work out and then keep working.

>how did I loop it
Because you're a mong. Drop clutches on anything bigger than a urop restricted 50cc and you too can land flat on your ass.

Started on a 600 Hornet and haven't flipped it with tork wheelies so far. 600's are the perfect starter bikes for anyone who's not retarded.
>>
>>17307294
yeah the metabolism thing is real, did you read my post?
your metabolism slows right the fuck down if you have hundreds of kilograms of fat already stored in your body, it is already busy trying to process that shit.

Thats why skinny people have a "fast metabolism" in comparison, their body has no fat to burn so when it does get some energy from food it is all being used straight away.

Simply put all fat people have to do to stop being fat is stop eating so fucking much.
go on a proper diet, don't even change the type of food you eat just the amount, make it 1/5th what you normally would and watch the weight disappear.....

>>
>>17307395
They make a scooter with a round light too, called the honda rebel

the move away from round lights on the good bikes is intended to scare away posers who can't ride and only want their bikes as fashion accessories

this will eventually drive insurance rates down for real motorcyclists
>>
>>17307398
Yeah up and down. Its pretty sex having it blip even down to 1st without any trouble.
S1000XR also had corner braking which is now only be introduced to the single R as well I believe.
It had all the farkles at launch probably to appeal to the GS riders like myself.
>>
>>17307406
Honestly the headlight aren't all that important to me, but if it actually does that I'm kinda for it. Not that I pay much for insurance anyway.

>>17307411
It's even cheaper than the single R here, apparently no one wants a touring bike.

Honda does it with the CBs, the new rebels as well
Suzuki has the sv650 and the tu250x, probably a few more
Yamaha has the xsr700/900, scr950, probably a few more as well
Kawasaki I don't know
