I've always used Castrol Edge in mine. Be careful however they try to jew you by selling it in 4L containers instead of 5L. But you can find 5L delivered from Germany for less cost than a 4L with a 1L top up.

I find that mobil 1 synthetic burns more then other oils.

I use VW's own brand of quantum oils, half the price of Mobil 1. Never had any issues with it. Comes in 5L containers
