Might be fine in a shitbox Civic with just a pad swap, but modern cars, especially """luxury""" """sports""" cars don't necessarily handle being on the track so well, especially in hotter climates. Brake pads get glazed quickly because the cars are so heavy now. Good fluid will usually be able to last a while, but beware of that sinking pedal. Those fancy factory drilled rotors are going to crack. All of this is easily mitigated by some brake ducting, and track capable pads.

I've seen quite a few of the bigger BMWs fall victim to heat on the track. The cooling system just can't handle the stress, especially on shorter tracks that have a short straight, meaning less time for the radiator to do its job. Additionally, modern engines use a decent amount of insulation to keep heat in the block, so that when you do a lot of stop/start and short trips, the engine and water temps stay closer to operating temperature.

How much 10k is worth in track time and lessons vastly varies though. Some places are good and cheap, others are bad expensive, some people learn fast, others learn slow, others learn fast at first, then plateau forever.

How much 10k in mods is worth varies even more. Investing 10k to turbo an old Miata, brakes, coilovers and tires might make it faster than any driver ever could.
