/o/ I'm looking for a decent truck as a secondary vehicle. Can be kinda older as well,15 years or so.
Thing is, I'm not trying to own a land barge and look like a truck Brotard but I also don't want to look like a Mexican scrapping metal. I don't care about brands really. So fan boys need not apply.
If I had to choose one I like the Tacomas but they're taxed up the ass. I also don't want a shitty Ridgeline. Must be BOF and 4x4.
Any suggestions?

there is also a chevy truck tax which is BS because GM is literally garbage, but for mid 2000s their fullsized truck platform is best, only because ford was producing garbage all across thre board during these specific years
im thinking of a chevy taho or suburban (00-06) to avoid the truck tax

Comes down to budget and what you want/need, every brand has it's share of issues and every brand has it's examples of reliability, some more than others. And unless you get a single cab with a short bed, they're all land barges.

There's no reason to spend a lot on a secondary vehicle. My personal preference is a '94 or older Gm full-size, it's cushy, great legroom, and easy to work on. The only obvious things to watch out for is a leaky intake manifold near the firewall side and resealing the tbi so you don't have fuel puddling under the hood after shut down.
