ITT post the oil grade(s) in your car(s)
5W-20
Castrol Edge Titanium, specifically becauae it had a very low NOACK and TEOST value. Ecoboost engine so I want minimal carbon buildup.
Would anyone use this on a 20k a year commuter car?

Someone educate me on oil since we're on the topic
For the Tacoma: Castrop Full Synth 5w-30
For the Subaru: Mobil 1 Full Synth 10w-30
>>17289982
bigger numbers = better, just like with octane
>>17290016
This is what I figured
5W-40
>>17289457
I have no oil.
0w-20 & 5w-20 for me Hondas
5w-30 pennzoil yellow bottle for PUtruck

Oil is pretty interesting actually...not sure how deep into detail you want me to go but the "w" number is the winter number . So that oil will flow as a straight 5 weight oil would flow at 0 degrees, and will flow like a straight 20 weight oil when it's 200/210 (can't remember the specifics) degrees
5w-30
Class V Ester based full synthetic because muh track days and VVEL actuators

You'd probably be okay. Runs a little thick anyway.
Redline 5w-40 is roughly the same, maybe just a bit thicker, as Mobil 1 5w-30 IIRC
Mobil1 0W-40 for my 300C

>>17291284
thats the joke
5w30 pennzoil ultra in my 5w20 accord
Figure it's summer and it's a good time to get rid of that old stock for a car I no longer have
20 weight oils seem to be a fuel savings meme, if the 5w30 burns less I'll keep using it
>>17291032
>Shell Rotella
10w40
15w40. Could use 20w50, but it gets pretty cold around here in the winter and prefer to play it safe.
>>17291537
Rust protection bro. My car leaks a little power steering fluid, and even with all the salt on the road, bolts and nuts are still in pretty good shape.
Inb4 fire hazard.
15w40 in muh redblock.
>>17291532
Hey people in the scene have done extensive testing and found it favourable to Mobil1. Otherwise I would use that.
>>17289966
thicker for mine
>>17290275
yeah it's 100 celsius or 212 fahrenheit.
>>17289457
for which car?
currently: 0W-20, 10W-40, 5W-40
>>17293356
>pretty cold around here
>15W oil
are you pants on head?
>>17293996
The manual says to use 20w50 when above -10Âșc, and 15w40 below that.
Protip: not all engines are created equal.
>>17294308
how old is this engine??
Do you need to pop open the cover and oil the drivetrain before hand crank starting?
Or is it just huge? with a stronk pump
>>17294326
Good trolling. Have a drawing of my "antique" engine.
