I don't quite have the budget for one right now, and I need four doors, so currently looking at exec saloons from the end of the 90s to upgrade my Xantia which I start to find painfully slow on my trips to Germany. BMW 540i or M5 E39, Mercedes E430 or E55 AMG W210

Regular things like oil and filter, brakes, easy suspension work. For something like a clutch job or a timing belt I'll go straight to a mechanic. I take care of the Citroën hydraulic system myself though, I don't trust any non-Citroën mechanic with it and Citroën charges an arm and a leg. Luckily I've only had to change the accumulators and the fluid once, which is considered routine maintenance and pretty easy to do.
