So. We've got THE go to brand of super cars, Ferrari. And an "overlooked" brand named Porsche.

Ferrari's tend to cost 2 thirds more and have one third more HP, but the Porsche beats it on the quarter mile and on lap times.

The Ferrari looks a hell of a lot better both outside and inside. And has the better tech and specs but still, the Porsche wins the vast majority of real life tests.

What's happening here? What's your opinion c/o/cks? Ferrari is obviously good they don't need our approval. But is Porsche "better"?
>>
How old are you OP? Just curious
>>
>>17286126
Nearly 31. Was indoctrinated with Ferrari but now I do realise that real life data matter more than names
>>
>>17286133

So now you will have to sell off your Ferrari collection
>>
>>17286126
Why.. btw? Is it the South Park font or that the dimensions match the car's model? I'm not trolling/baiting. Just have a new-found love for Porsches

I think the Gt3 Rs is the same price as a 488. also i think the rs was made in fewer number so less of them running around, the 488 will only go down in value unlike the Rs Porsche. But the Ferrari is a more of a "hey look at me" kinda car, it's more space ship like.. the Porsche takes on a more classy appearance, so diffidently not as flashy.
>>
>>17286154
Yeah all none of them

>>17286195
Omg. Ferrari: better name, better specs, better looking, more expensive
Porsche: Wins in real life tests nearly every time

>>17286221
a fucking camaro is just as fast as either of them these days. 99% of the reason people buy them is because of the badge and the way they look.
>>
>>17286230
I think the Porsche looks more classy.. i don't like that fuck boy look the Ferrari gives.
>>
>>17286218
No, it's less than half the price at 143k whilst the Ferrari starts at 301k. Also the Ferrari has 661hp as opposed to the Porsche's 500. But the Porsche beats in on the track. THAT'S what this thread is about
>>
>>17286231
A "fucking camaro" doesn't steer. Not even sure it has a steering wheel. we're talking real cars here. Not high-speed trains.
>>
>>17286241
Erm, not for the 2016 friendo. All 2016 Porsche RS are well over 200k some sitting at 260k Also keep in mind that these are used. http://www.dupontregistry.com/autos/listing/2016/porsche/911--gt3--rs/1641966

Honestly, no one here can afford either of these cars.

The GT3 is. Those listings are 1k mileage used in Top Gear and JewTube shit with ALL the options. entry level is still half the price of the Ferrari. And you don't need the RS or anything else to beat the Ferrari

Entry level is 175k bare bone. Also that Ferrari some time is going to be one of those cars anyone can afford down the road. it just keeps going down hill. Look at the Gallardo, that car is trash now. That Porsche gt3 is going to be worth 400k one day if not more.

>>17286952
That's a really clever way to get fleet average emissions down. They just buy a bunch of iQs from Toyota, change up pretty much every single panel as well as the entire interior and sell it as their own car, which in turn allows them to keep building nothing but V8- and V12-powered works of art.

they also attract some of the most cancerous drivers on the road, at this rate it's inevitable that Porsche drivers will eventually attain the same reputation as BMW/Merc drivers.

they are different kind of cars and they isn't really much to compare

with buying a ferrari, you're buying the experience., the involvment in "high society" and ferrari invites you to their silly rich people events etc. nothing too much regarding the car itself or any real sports driving. It's just a big circlejerk. If you buy enough ferraris from them overtime, and get your rich friends to buy ferraris, they reward you by picking you to offer you their newest special snowflake cars they don't sell to normal scrubs, and invite you to more special events.

with the porsche you're mostly buying a car. Everything is about the DRIVING EXPERIENCE and not the social status aspect like ferrari. With porsche you can have european delivery and fuck about with your car in europe, and they'll ship it to your home country afterwards, or you can go to the driver's experience every year and they'll ship your car to the track after you sign up and drop it off in the dealership.

TL;DR Ferrari's user experience focuses on the social status aspect of owning a luxury sportscars with events, dinners etc. Porsche focuses on actually driving and not circlejerking with other rich people. Unless it's a classic porsche.

American cars have shit handling, period. That's why our cars are used at every fucking bracket of racing except for the one where you turn left for hours. That's for the limited capacity of ameriburger's intelligence and car handling.
>>
I don't know where you're getting your info. This site suggests that the 488 is faster across pretty much every measure, especially at the top end, than the GT3 RS. Of course, if I had to buy one, I'd still get the GT3 given the $75K price discrepancy.

The 488 is a one trick pony (heh), 2 seater sports car that's (sadly) mostly used to show off or kept in a garage.

The 911 however is probably the only sports car out there that can be owned as an only car.

>not too wide, has normal ground clearance
>no typical supercar issues like shitty visibility, tiny fuel tank or a shitty transmission that's awful at regular driving
>usable rear seats or decent luggage space, roof rack for ski or bikes available
>will not fall apart or ruin you with service costs if you put miles on it

And it comes in all kinds of flavours and with a ton of options to fit whatever you want to do with it. (I'd have a manual Carrera 2S with a ducktail pls)
Driving dynamics are GOAT, and all it takes is a GTS to keep up with supercars in case that matters.

The only gripe I have is the 991's light power steering (It's not that bad though, just not perfect). Apparently they fixed it with the facelift, but I haven't driven that so far.

The Ferrari is probably a great piece of engineering (same as a GTR, an Aston Martin Vantage or a Mclaren whatever), but the 911 is a different, somewhat unique kind of sportscar for a different purpose and not really comparable imho.

you should at least ride in a car a few times to get an actual feel of it before shitting all over it.

It's not really worrying, it's more annoying.
Mainly because you know there's no way the services rendered are worth what's being charged.
Having the cash to buy a six figure car doesn't make me believe the floor mats are worth $250 apiece, or that it really costs $150 to change the oil.

Well, think about it a little, Ferrari makes cars that are supposed to be rediculous. They make cars that look bold, almost obnoxious, kind of like Lamborghini does. Porsche has always been a company about functionality, and even though the cars they release might look lackluster next to a Ferrari, they beat them around the track because they're made to be more sensible.

This...I've built kitchens for rich people, contract stated 40% deposit, 40% on delivery, 10% 30 day holdback. I'd show up with the boxes, looking for my 2nd 40%...them asking if I can hold on yntil the end of the month when whatever interest something was payed...
Nothing has moved off my trailer yet, so I just lifted and secured the ramp, and with them asking what I was doing, I got back into my truck and drove off...
I'd phone them back later and remind them that as per contract, I get my 2nd 40%...or no delivery...
Funny how they always seem to scrape it together for the next day...
Don't even ask about the 30 day hold back...that shit can go months...
