So I own and drive an 04 Chevrolet Avalanche and live close to a local drag strip that I just now found out has nights where you can drag race your own vehicle, all it has to do is pass a NHRA inspection and looking at what is required I have no idea if it could pass as it. Anyone that can help me cut through all this.
I think when I was looking into it, in order to run it, you need a 5-point harness seat, and a roll cage.
On top of the obvious standard road worthy conditions like functioning brakes and a non-leaking engine.

Most of the time those test 'n tune nights don't require a full-on inspection. They just check for some obvious shit like no leaks to a drip, all the lugnuts and studs in place, battery is tied down somehow, and a helmet for the driver. It's only competition nights where the full inspection is used.

by the look of it that avalanche has seen less snow and dirt than a life-sentence prisoner

Well it's not mine so...
>Avalanche
>Mud tires
>Stock aside from slowmedown parts
>Want to drag race
Why don't you just read it's 1/4 mile from the test drive review sites and subtract a few seconds for your heavy ass tires and fat ass weight, or just calculate your own at 1 AM some night on an open stretch of road

That is some random ass picture I found off the web, mine is bone stalk.

17 seconds at ~80 MPH, good race

>>17272100
I want to know if I need to bring a helmet, add a harness, or what!

Just a helmet and you'll be fine.
