I'm a parts manager at an Infiniti dealership for the last 14 years. From 2002-2006 we used Nissan's fuel system cleaner (chevron w/Techron) on all our cars getting their 15,000 mile services. I never sold fuel sending units on any cars regularly serviced at our dealership (except for 1 model that had a service bulliten). When we elimited the fuel system cleaner to lower the cost of the service in 2007 the number fuel senders we started changing went up gradually by 100's of %. I went from stocking that one service bulliten part to dozens across every model. Techron definitely works. I use it every other oil change.
I drop in some motomaster fuel cleaner every 30k or so, and overtreat like 10 tanks of fuel with the big $8 bottle. Make sure it has PEA, and it may do nothing if you already get fresh top tier fuel regularly.

Seafoam has NO PEA in it.
>people who back these products are the same people who don't own their cars, and if they do, they sure as shit don't do basic maitnence beyond an oil change 2x a year
I've no reason to believe any of these are useful unless you have a carburetor/throttle body injected fuel system. If you do have one of these then you can use a cleaner to clean off the intake valve and not much else. Marvel Mystery Oil is handy in the oil though for cleaning out gunk.

Gumout makes a Regane product that is their own formulation of Seafoam with PEA. Goes in the same way and does twice the work
These products are useful for high pressure systems such as direct injection. They're more subject to issues. But it ain't gonna hurt your car to use it. Knock yourself out. $5 at walmart
