Don't buy new. Imo it's not worth buying it used particularly with this car. Sure it's light and "fun" going by what ever you think fun is but that's all it has going for it. If you're actually going to tune and supe up this thing don't buy new because you'll just void the warranty that you paid for.

Find a used one, pay no more than 15k with less than 40k miles. I guarantee you like other cars of this kind it was bought by some kid and he ripped the shit out of the clutch so definitely feel if its worn or not. Don't buy any used car with any tunes, Cobb tuners or any of that shit, just more evidence it's been beat on hard.

If you wanna fix the torque dip the solution lies in replacing the headers with a larger one or just getting a larger exhaust all together. Either that or throw away the garbage thin tires that come with a gt86. They're the same tires they throw on a prius not because of the meme that Toyota wants you to drift but because toyota is Jewish and lazy. You can avoid these garbage tires all together if you buy a brz as the brz comes with better tires.

After that if you're really inclined you can get a turbo for added power. The engine in this car is the same as the wrx's and the fa20 it a turbo handles it really well just by the fact that the wrx exists

Also if you live in an area with a real winter with any more than 2 inches of snow. Don't drive this car in the winter. It fucking sucks. It's so light and so low to the ground you'll get stuck even in the lightest if snow falls.

Another thing. The rear 2 seats are trash. It's advertised as a 2+2 coupe but it fucking sucks. Sitting in the back seat is impossible. Either the driver has to be a manlet and push his seat forward or you have to be a manlet to sit in the back of this thing. There's no way you're getting 2 people in the back comfortably in any realistic configuration.
