Should I get it, /o/?
>>17242981
>Did a diesel conversion
This is a thing? Making gas engines run on diesel?
>>17242988
Nevermind I'm retarded. I hope some of you get some laughs out of that.
>>17242981
No. You should not. That engine was shit.
>>17242981
Ah yes, making a spark ignition engine be converted to knocking at every combustion event. Should end well.
>>17243021
but its a magnum!
>Did a diesel conversion
did it succeed?
>>17243021
What was wrong with it?
>>17243034
Nothing. It's a great engine.
>>17243091
I'm conflicted now
>>17243099
>trying to make a fake rt
>>17243025
No you dipshit the guy swapped a diesel engine into his car and is selling the gasoline engine.
>>17244094
kek
>>17242981
>I was an idiot and accidentally put diesel in my gas motor and gooned it. Now I'm trying to sell it to someone dumber than I am on Craigslist.
>>17243099
The 360 will have plenty of power for a little Dakota.
>>17244157
Would it be good for a daily driver though? Or should I just tolerate my v6
>>17244168
well a Ram with it gets like >15mpg so it should be fine
>>17244181
Alright, should I be concerned about it only being that much?
>>17244192
its an old engine thats not really desired the price isnt that crazy
most of what I see are $400-$600
obviously youd want to inspect it tho
>>17242993
At least you were Intelligent enough to admit your own mistake.
>>17243034
It made kinda shit power for its size, and that thing probably needs a shitload of work. Looks like your buying someone else's failed project. You could probably buy something that actually works for less than you would have to put into this shitheap.
>>17244455
Where else should I look? Every other engine I find is 200k+
>>17242981
>not an ls1
no
>should i buy an engine for no reason
probably not dude
>>17244455
how is it even a project
it was just an engine that was removed
>>17244563
I'm putting it in my dakota
do it
I've got this in my Durango. Hauls ass and can do some good towing. 250hp is bretty Guud.
>>17244455
>It made kinda shit power for its size, and that thing probably needs a shitload of work
This is the kind of shit I'd expect from someone talking out their ass.
In other words, the average /o/ poster.
>>17242981
V8 did a Diesel conversion?
Lol wut
The Cummins is inline 6 and has been proven.
>>17246443
>What is engine swap
>>17246443
he swapped engines with a diesel
>>17242981
$100 more and a weekend gets you an LS.
>>17246823
I want to keep a dodge engine in it though that's the thing
>>17246056
I mean, he's not wrong, my dad has a '94 with the same engine (sans diesel conversion) and Its not especially impressive at all. Not that its bad by any means, but it is based on the Chrysler LA engine which came out in the early 60s i think and the 360 cid, 5.9l was released in 1971
It makes about 245hp @4000 rpm and 330ft. lbs @3250 rpm and the redline is 5000 Rpm
Now, its worth noting that its not pushing its maximum, HotRod.com has an article where they added about 129hp to a 360 crate engine with a combination of cam, piston heads, intake and a few other things.
