/o/ wants to ls1 into everything. /o/ wants cheap fast rwd that can turn and stop.

Can you ls swap it?

RB swap an old shitbox Corvette
In all seriousness I still think there are a disproportionate amount of automatic C5s out there compared to earlier ones, or later ones
this is still sort of the sweet spot for when an automatic was still considered "luxury" options not "standard"

That'd be kinda neat
Already happened
What is best?
>C6 base
>C5 Z06
>C4 ZR1
?

C6 is a fully baked C5 and best for overall performance per dollary-doo.
C5 is a half baked C6 and a C5Z is about as fast or slightly slower than a C6 but cost slightly more or just as much.
C4 ZR1 is like a 400 lb heavier (3500 lbs) C5Z (3100 lbs) with a special snowflake engine and not as good of a chassis and probably more expensive than the other 2 due to rarity.
Since C4s in general are old too so expect shit like the electronics to break. newest C4 ZR1 you could find is 95 vs the newest C5Z being 02.

would do it to a C4.

This is actually true. Decent prices for stick shifts are uncommon even in So Cal.

you could find a cheap A4 and swap to manual.

Pretty much this, but I'd give the edge to a C5 Z06 over a C6 unless the C6 had the Z51 option.
