This is the only place where I've seen such anger at automatics and manuals

I don't know anyone in real life who cares about it. The few people I know who drive manuals do so only because their first car, their current car, happened to be one


So what's the big deal? Why do people on /o/ care so much about it?

This is probably a meme-answer, but if I'm not racing around why should I bother having a manual- it just seems like it's more work

I just want to put out there that manuals depreciate slightly slower then their auto counterparts because manuals are more desirable (in places that aren't Burgerland)

If you really REALLY like driving, the extra bit of control it affords can be enjoyable. I have never owned an automatic, but I'm not going to shit on people who don't want to bother because cars just ain't their thing.
