What is the best looking truck of all time?
>>17213589
I wasn't going to fap again but now I am.
>>17213582
Basically 67-72 Chevy's, followed by 73-87 Chevy's.
>>17213589
Dem stretch marks
>>17213582
>those wheels
no, just no
>>17213582
Stock 67-72 Chevy's or one with a small lift and 31's. They look alright when they're a bit low, but the stock look is amazing to me

There's a beautifully restored one near me too but it's at a dealership and they want over 20k leaf dollars for it which is pretty ridiculous.
>>17215204
>restored
I'm talking 1600 original miles. It still has the factory tires on it too, not dry rotted
He wants $45,000 USD for it
>>17215209
That reminds me of a boomer I know who kept a 1996 Camaro in a bubble and stored it for two decades. He still has it and it has been listed on craigslist for 50k for the past 4 years.
Prove me wrong.

>>17216464
Yep.
>>17216466
Is that stock? It looks like someone took the front end of a Torino and stuffed it on a Ranchero.
>>17216483

>>17216630
That's the point. This truck is just a truck and it knows it.
>>17216630
Embrace the jellybean
>>17216640
I totally see your point about simplicity, I just think that 90's aesthetic of rounded, fat looking trucks was kinda lame. The 70's and 80's had equally simple trucks with a much more no-nonsense kinda vibe.
>>17215882
>>17216034
>>17215002
>>17216675
Agreed. Boxy works way better in my head for simple, no-frills looks than rounded/bubbly. Can't really get behind most other 80's boxy-car aesthetics but for trucks it just works.

>>17213806
I forgot these existed until I saw one the other day outside of a grocery store.
This seems like a good place to ask this:
My grandfather is 98 this winter, and while he's not ill right now, he's had his share of health problems... What I'm saying, is that eventually, he's not gonna be there.
He has some sort of (I think its a 70s instead of 80s) GM/Chevy pickup in one of his garages that hasn't been driven in probably 2 or 3 decades. The paint is all faded, but from a brief look there wasn't any rust. The front looked a bit like this one, but stupidly I didn't look for any kind of emblem.
>>17216162
I'm thinking of asking him this Thanksgiving if he wouldn't mind me restoring it once I polish off college next year.
With a bit of google fu, it looks pretty close to this one, no emblem on the front, but the headlights were/are a bit different.

God I wish Jeep made their trucks again, Gladiators, Comanches, Willys. Something about them is pure sex.
>>17218151
It's the long straight lines. Looks like a steel dick. Or a Soviet product made from stamped steel.
>>17218151
>>17218153
It's the frugal wartime aesthetic. StG 44 has the same quality.
Generation one Chevrolet Avalanche.
Sorry not sorry. This thing was filthy today at canadas strada meet.
>>17213582
First gen F100 and it's not even close. I would actually place this pretty high on a list of best looking vehicles of all time. It is so goddamn pretty.

Did you forget Chevy/GMC existed for a minute there?
>>17219656
Those were for sure the best looking trucks of the 90s. I just think that's when they started getting gradually worse with each year until the stagnation of the 2000s hit.
>>17219837
Damn right. I DD a 95 1500, love its utility, the way it looks, and its reliability.

>>17216597
I'm a fabricator.
I-beams are awesome. Radius arms were cake to modify (12" longer) and new mounts were easy.
Beams were bent by AutofabĀ© so they bolt to factory brackets.
More robust than a-arms, don't give ground like a-arms, but independent.
There's a reason ford i-beams/twin traction beams owned Baja 500/1000 for the last 30+ years
>>17219922
No, but only be cause it doesn't fit within a lane.
They do drive it down the strip on skinnier tires though (its in las Vegas).
Laws on length for passenger vehicles (like limos) is amount of stretch ADDED. So if you start with a longer vehicle, the end product can be longer than another vehicle that you added the same exact amount to.
>>17221673
They work really well for truck use, but I want to turn my truck into a muscle truck with some semblance of handling. The price that is paid for strength and travel is shit geometry and huge unsprung weight.
They are killer for a few applications though, and like you said it's tough as nails.
This thread convinced me; I think I'm finally going to try and hunt down a new transmission and slowly fix up my family's '84 S10 when I'm home on weekends
I genuinely think the 94-02 Rams might have been the best looking trucks of all time. A lot of people here don't know it, but when they came out, they were a serious revolution in how pick up trucks were styled. Chevy's and Ford's were still pretty much just box-y bolt buckets.
>>17218225
Kill it with fire.
>>17222056
Do it, faggot. My uncle stole mine.
