Does the supercharger affect the reliability of the 3800?
Forced induction will always negatively affect the reliability of an engine.

dawww look at the cute baby blower!

>But I refuse to recommend them as a tuning platform
Why?
>>17204245
Money to power ratio.
>>17204245
Because the trip fag stolen recaros is a whole different kind of autism with over 18,000 posts.
>>17204245
I said that. And it's because the engine is a shit design for making power. If you want a pushrod V6 to tune, go for one of the GM 60* V6 engines. I'd recommend looking into the 3400, 3500, and 3900.
The 3900 is only .1L larger than the 3800, but makes as much power as the supercharged 3800. It's so much more efficient at making power.
>but muh boost
a 60* V6 with boost will make more power than a 3800 with the same mods.

>comparing N/A to S/C
throw that blower on the LQ1.
Then compare.

oh look. look at all this aftermarket support it doesn't have. People go for what's easiest, not what's best.
Case in point: 96% of all cars sold in America are automatic.
>>17204451
>Case in point: 96% of all cars sold in America >are automatic.
Stay on point faggot. No dancing around this.
Your 60* engines are shit. Great idea on paper but in the real world they were sub par quality pieces of shit with no torque. That is why there is no aftermarket. Proof is everywhere in this world.
now you can go cry in the backseat of your dead mothers z34.
>>17204520
>Your 60* engines are shit.
You picked out the ONE variant with no aftermarket support.
And for one. I agree. The LQ1 is not for modifying. It's too physically large. But I was not advocating modifying the special snowflake DOHC LQ1.
Go back up there. I said PUSHRODS motherfucker.
The 3100/3400/3500/3900 ARE better at making power than 3800s, have have decent aftermarket support. You can buy a turbo kit for the 3100/3400, but granted it's only for N-body cars
I came to terms with the LQ1. It's a great special snowflake, but that's all it is. If you want a pushrod GM V6 to modify, the PUSHROD 60* engines are the way to go.
Hell theres a guy here who has a turbo 3800 Monte, and as soon as his 3800 is dead, he's switching to a 3900.
>>17204538
>and he comes back full circle...
>still not on point...
Doesn't matter what you said... at all.
they all are giant pieces of shit and you have absolutely no proof that exists in this world that proves your point. Get it through your head.
>but on paper mommy....
Feel free to replace Lq1 with any variant of the 60* engine in any of my screen shots that ive taken from your previous discussions.
You just got btfo faggot. From now I'll just sit back and screen shot your replies and laugh.
might want to start a new trip code. or kys in that z34.
>>17204633
>no real argument
>I'll call him btfo and tell him to consider suicide just so I can get the last word in.
>>17204633
He admitted himself he's autistic. Doesn't matter what you say, if you bring up the 3800 engine he will instantly get triggered and go on some tangent about how all these other v6 engines are allegedly better, even though most don't care.
Recaros seems like the kind of guy that knows a lot about cars but has no idea what to do with a wrench in his hand.
>>17204337
The thing about the 3800SC is that it's already crammed into a million cars. It's easy as hell to snag a gtp and throw a pulley on it. Pretty much babby's first tuner car
>>17204746
We call them armchair/magazine mechanics.
>>17203574
No. The factory supercharged engine is lower compression than the N/A one.
However, it could affect the reliability of the transmission, which is made of glass and putty.
