Is buying used coilovers ever a good idea? I found some used godspeed fully adjustable coilovers on offerup for 550 but the guy is willing to accept 400 for them. Am I making a mistake?

the seller said he only used them for around 8k miles.

seeing as they are usually like 2 grand and in the pictures they look pretty good I'd say go for it that's a steal

Personally I never buy used coilovers, specially from some random forum members or craig list shit.
You do know that GodSpeed is one of cheapest coilovers you can buy new right ?
Koni yellow with good spring combos will out perform any low end coilovers

thanks for your input guys ill shop around some more and see if i can find something better. In general, what would be something to look for if i were to be buying some used ones?

save headache and save up for new one. I have friends who buy used coilovers and most are ok, but some have had issue with them. When people say "only have XXXX amount of miles" how da fuck do you know ? all they have to do is clean them up.

look for tein flex z
I've just checked ebay, they are going for under $1000 new.
If anything I run them for like 2 years on 350Z, so far so good.

I've got some Teins on my car that are good as brand new as far as I can tell. They're about 4 years old, have maybe 10k miles on them. I wouldn't hesiatate to buy them if I were someone else.

You can send them out for a rebuild, its usually around $100 per strut.
I say buy them, ride them. If they have issues, or are blown, send them out for repairs.
Take em apart, and clean them first. Apply grease,or anti size to the threads
