got a mitsubishi outlander, the things been sitting for about 4 months (in cali some rain but not much weather).
it wouldn't start, charged the battery and got it going. drove around for 15 mins, came home and the fucker wouldnt start again. evertime i stopped the radio would die.
jumped it again and drove for an hour. the radio stopped giving me shit so i figured cool and went home, same thing. only now when i push the start button the light comes on for the button but nothing else. AND i can't get it to turn off. i left the key out for a while and it either turned off because of that or died. fucker won't start again.
i can't afford a new battery if i give it another shot will anything happen or am i risking getting stranded. i need to put gas in it (i know i should have filled it months ago) but i don't want to turn the engine off.

Just push-start it
>>17192288
you need to charge it properly, even then it might not return to its full capacity.
also check the acid level if possible.

thats solid advice but its an automatic. and getting it started isn't the issue. and its a 2015.

what does charging it properly entail? i jumped it, let it sit for maybe a minute and then started it and drove off. does it need to idle? i remember being told that was bullshit and totally necessary by different people.

It would take a trickle charger with adequate amperes more than 12 hours to charge a 12v72Ah battery. I wouldn't idle for that long.

so if i take it to an auto store that offers charging they should be able to do it right? gotta be cheaper than a new battery.
>>17192559
yes, they would probably be offering a fast charge option as well (not that I recommend it).
check both auto store charging and buying a trickle charger options, can be had for ~30 bucks.
