other then the constant shilling they're doing now I think their content is pretty entertaining. wish episodes didn't take so long to come out though.
>>
Pretty good although I wish they'd tone down the advertising

Roadkill is totally free though you so u don't have to pay. Just wait 3 months for the new episode. Or just watch all the mtod shows free anyway they are literally posted everywhere.

>>
>>17185742
no they aren't
>>
>>17185753
Ya they are plus most of the crap they post to u tube now is just teaser videos telling you to go pay for the show at mtod. How much u tube bucks to these teaser videos get them?
>>
Hey there must be a new roadkill coming to mtod tomorrow. I never see these shill threads for the you tube release anymore. Oh wait that's because they are out 4 months later. I'll be checking the streamers tomorrow for the new RK free as always.
>>
>>17185767
i literally just checked their roadkill playlist and they have every single episode there.
>>
>>17185774
nig i'm not shilling it was a genuine question. I don't come to /o/ that often just wanted to know the general opinion.
>>
>>17185775
Really because it only went back to show #40 for me. I had to watch some of the older ones that people reupload on their own channel.
>>
>>17185783
So there is no new Roadkill episode coming out tomorrow?
>>
>>17185792
I have no idea honestly. I don't follow them on social media (don't have any). seams one might come out soon considering it's been awhile.
>>
>>17185805
Ya it's been like 4 months. The reason you don't see roadkill threads besides the shill threads that get posted here whenever a new episode comes out. Is because no one here is going to pay for MTOD. Also it feels like they abandoned their you tube following by saying, hey they just don't give us enough money here guys so now we are using this platform as advertising for our pay per view channel.
>>
>>17185825
if I wasn't broke all the time it'd be totally worth it for me to get MTOD just cus i enjoy their shit so much. does anyone know if theres a stream available?

I like them and Dirt Every Day for the same reason I liked Wheeler Dealers and hate garbage like Fast n Loud. they actually go into the mechanics of things and just do the bare minimum to get things running rather than spending 10 minutes going over their custom audio system with you. and their deadlines are actually real things not just made up for the sake of adding drama.

As a result, this lost episode of Roadkill powered by Dodge has not aired until now. And while this show does not have exactly the same production quality or format as a normal Roadkill episode, it’s Roadkill-y enough that we thought we should share it with youhere on Motor Trend OnDemand.

Literally 30% of motortrend is advertising, either advertising their channel "SUBSCRIBE NOW" bullshit or a bunch of products they use. I get it, they get shit for free for putting it on the show but there comes a point where its too much.

The other annoyance is just how much filler bullshit is in all their shows, go watch motor masters (or whatever its called) and its 90% zoom-ins on whatever engine they have, its almost parody.

Roadkill is only good for Finnegan, his own show is better and there hasn't been a cool roadkill in ages.

this episode did kinda bum me out. MCM seemed like they put a lot more effort in. the impala would have been awesome if they would have just changed the rear gears, put a spool in it, fat tires, and a better stall converter. maybe make it floor shift too. they kinda half assed it. otherwise i love their show. dirt every day is pretty cool too

Totally not a shill thread guys. Makes thread advertising a pay per view show 1 day before the show comes out. No guys it's totally free for 30 days with trial. Then sticks around to protect the brand quickly responding to any negative posts about Motor trend. It's more obvious the only time these threads show up are when new episodes are coming out this board was better when roadkill hadn't released a new episode for 3 months.

I started watching last week on a whim. I'm only at S2 E4 but I think it's entertaining as hell. The odd tips and tricks they throw in like the sock at high idle are great because even though I'm an apprentice we never see carbs, mechanical fuel pumps etc. on older cars.

>Literally the only non-American car has an American engine

The whole fucking point is doing shit on a budget, if I wanted to see million dollar show cars there's several dozen shows that cover that.
>>
>>17192252
A budget your funny the show is sponsored by Dodge they took a new engine out of a new car for one of their cars. Not to mention the show was always part of a major cooperation hot rod magazine advertising write off.
>>
>>17192241
The whole point is having fun with old cars. Roadkill started life as Beard and Ball cap just finishing or reviving old projects they had never done, and paint is expensive and time-consuming. Better to just not bother and run the car with rusty, mismatched panels. General Maintenance was a gift from Dodge, yes, as was the General Mayhem Hellcat conversion, but the rest have very little if any sponsor money in them.
>>
>>17192921
Now I know your a shill taken from roadkill Facebook 2013 Sponsors for Roadkill now include. Holley,Eastwood tool supplier,AcDelco, ironclad gloves, mast Motorsports,Gearstar, becool, Gopro. Don't forget optima batteries. The show is a marketing platform just like the magazine empire that was failing print media before they attracted new views though you tube. Now there is even a roadkill magazine making a full circle of success.
>>
Hey kids do you like cars.

Motor Trend’s YouTube Series `Roadkill’ Is Becoming a Print Magazine Aimed at Millennial Car Lovers.
An old school print company is launching a new magazine, with a unique twist. It’s based on a YouTube show.

In fact, in an era where many legacy media companies are still trying to figure out their digital strategies, Ten: The Enthusiast Network, which publishes the 66-year-old magazine Motor Trend, has enjoyed massive success with the original YouTube series “Roadkill.” So much so that the company is planning to roll out a quarterly magazine called “Roadkill” starting in September, along with a companion website (live this week) and a series of live events.
>>
And get this: the team behind Motor Trend isn’t just trying to get those YouTube-loving millennials to put down their phones and pick up a magazine. It’s charging them $9.99 an issue.

What are they thinking exactly?

Well, “Roadkill,” launched in 2012 as part of YouTube’s effort to fund content from a mix of Hollywood and traditional media players, averages 3 million views an episode.
>>
Meanwhile, millennials have shown a high propensity to consume such content via social and mobile media.

But both executives argued that with enthusiast content like muscle cars, audiences can’t get enough, which should bode well for a print product.

Mr. MacKenzie noted that when the company started a Facebook page for “Roadkill” on a Friday afternoon, it generated 30,000 likes the first weekend before the company posted any content. “When you see stuff like that going on…that’s off the charts engagement,” he said.
>>
>>17193144
And when it started it had none of that. I started watching at episode 3. It was literally just "let's go buy some junker and thrash it" or "here's this old thing I've had sitting around, let's fix it up and thrash it." It was something without the crap of reality TV, and the duo had good chemistry from the get-go. Unsurprisingly, something good got popular and then they got sponsors thrown at them. It's gone downhill a little bit but it's still good, just not great.
>>
>>17187554
>"yeah, because roadkill."
>>
>>17185609
Yea, its still one of the best youtube channels around

But that doesn't mean I'll donate or pay for special content, nobody got time for that extra shit

I could fund them, but I need shares in their brand
>>
>>17193304
Did you not read anything. It started as advertising project for hot rod magazine to showcase print media to kids who don't buy magazines. you tube paid them extra trying to get higher quality content that wasn't just a teen girl pointing a camera at her face. Once the you tube restructuring happened and they lowered the $$$$$$ amount for their Hollywood established media makers their company made their own pay per view website taking all their intilectual property over to the new site.
>>

Boy it sure is nice that every Roadkill thread is 75 percent bitching about the MTOD pay stuff, or calling people shills. Here's an idea, JUST IGNORE THE PAY TO VIEW shit and try to find something you DO like in the free portion. I swear every time it's "they're selling out, I hate the advertising, fucking paywalls, I want it all for freeeeeeeeee". Your cheapskate complaining drives people away.

I like the show and hope it doesn't stray too far from the feel of the early episodes. The fact that half the time they don't achieve the goal they set out to do, but they keep going and have fun with "plan b" is a good bit of life advice. The humor doesn't feel forced, and I could probably watch a whole episode of them just screwing around like when they had the trail bikes.

Here's the part I DON'T like: these guys can buy a car 30-50 years old, jack it up, and just start UNBOLTING SHIT like it's nothing. Here in the rust belt cars that age have crumbled into rust piles decades ago, and newer shit needs a wire brush, PB Blaster, hammer and torch to unbolt. I'm turning green with childish envy over here.
>>
>>17185577
The Rotsun was a fresh breath of air.
I'm not saying they should abandon their hopes and dreams of fucking with cheap American cars but they should play around more with the idea of putting bigass engines in shitboxes.

But to answer your question, I like Finnegan and Freiberger's relationship, Their show makes it entertaining just because sometimes they know what they're doing, and sometimes they don't. The "why not" moments they spawn like the boost caboose and stubby bob are really on their own league.

Then don't watch the show if you don't like it, dude. It's all about choices in life. Here, you're choosing to go on negative rants and fill a thread with your hostility and entitlement. Think about other people, we probably don't want to hear your broken record complaining. You're like the toxic coworker that drags everyone else down.

It's pretty sad that Roadkill's Youtube page seems to have on average better comments and dialogue than the threads here.

It's what the vehicles or powertrain they're putting in the vehicles come with, and it's better for straight-line stuff. Also easier to do brake stands.

It was enjoyable, but having not having any footage the highway accident left me with blue balls not even the tank could fix

You forgot the actual first LeMons attempt with the Fury

I know, i'm intentionally framing in a disingenuous way, like the guy i'm replying too.

Last i knew Marty and Moog had other jobs and this was a part time thing; on the other hand Roadkill is part of Motor Trend. It's pretty obvious that Roadkill despite its beater tone is a much larger production.

>part time thing
At the capacity that MCM operates now, if anything it's kinda depressing this isn't even a venture that can support them into investing in it full time, unless Moog really likes making shit computer noises first and foremost
>>
>>17199142
You do have to understand the different nature of the builds though. MCM's was working with a sawzall, some plumbing, and a readily available ECU tune. Roadkill had to swap a gigantic supercharged engine into a car that there's no real pre-made swap kit for.

30 make min wage part time 35hr week. Rent house $2200 month 4 roommates who don't pay rent consistently it's extra for utilities. Phone payment $80 month internet and cable $100 month renters insurance $50 car payment $600 a month car insurance $129 per month food $200 plus top ramen. 45 mile commute to work every day. $400 a month gas bill No health insurance pay the fine every year. Local sales tax 12% on goods I buy. Don't qualify for any benefits on housing or food stamps because I'm white. make min payments on student loan and credit cards because obviously I don't make enough money to live. Still wanting me to pay motor trend on demand $5 a month to watch a show that was designed to be an advertisement for hot rod magazine. Used to get enjoyment from watching new episodes of roadkill now have to wait for extra 3 months for old stale episodes on u tube. Good thing I watch all the newest content for free because this is the internet and only retards pay to watch advertising. ya I gotta pay cable it is a bundle and the only way I get online no neighbors with wifi.

youtube is only 1 ep behind the mtod, they release it 30 days after. Why the fuck are you 30 and making after school work wages? I haven't done a min wage part time job since I worked at a dunkin' donuts sophomore year. Not trying to bust your balls too hard here but start applying for jobs that require a resume stat.
