These are red flags when it comes to buying secondhand. Escorts are badly made and most have since rusted away. Estate means it's been owned by some chav builder and not looked after it. Diesel means expensive repairs compared to a petrol equivalent. It'll probably break down within a week. I'd be interested to see the reg plate to see its MOT history and possible advisories.

Actually this. I drove a 2004 rav 4 and its grip is surprising, pedal layout is good and it has enough feedback.
It is quite fun to drive.
Just lower it and lighten it and make most of the engine.

Blown, replaced and on the way out again. Current issue is that the ECU isn't riching up in the cold so I need to spray the intake with WD-40 to get her going in the cold. Recently replaced the fuel tank since it was leaking like a sieve too, and the heater only works as of March after I owned it from January last year.
