Give me a quick rundown on the Michelin Pilot AS 3 tire.

The dealer told me he was going to get me Sport cups and I ended up getting AS3s on my car.

I figured this was ok since I plan on driving in the rain.

Is it a good tire?

I like the tread pattern of the KO2s. They look good after driving through snow or after a heavy morning dew and the tire picked up some sand.

Do you have bad weather a lot? If it rains rarely and you don't deal with snow/ice you didn't need AS3s and could have just got regular PSS.

If you mean it in the sense of OP's post that people buy tires just because the tread pattern is pretty, yeah I know tons of people who do that. Can't really blame them as most street drivers never really push their tires to the point where it would make a difference, so buy what you think looks cool.

On the flip side more serious buyers will look at the tread pattern for buying, but they're not looking at aesthetics, they're looking at things like "will this pattern perform better in wet" and so on.
