Ok so a while back a drunk driver hit my versa. With savings and the payout im looking at 8k for getting a new toy, and id like to get into drifting. Is this still a thing? Where do i start and whats a good car to start with? Looking at maybe a 350z, unless i buy something older like a 240, miata, or cressida. Suggestions?
Somebody else's used drift bitch.

No. And if you "lol drift missile" a 240 I will find you and kill you.
buy a $2000 Ford Crown Vic police car and turn it into a drift barge

Japanese is the way to go full dorifto, but you can also check some BMWs

I've got an 89 wagon that I've stiffened the suspension for less lateral movement and installed a shorter diff gear and LSD. With every passing year it seems more and more like acquiring an engine capable of breaking traction under 2 tons of car is a pipe dream. I just can't afford it, or the mods to my current one, or the various other bullshit I'd have to install to make a swap work.

immediate solutions that come to mind are
>reducing weight
and
>increasing power
Looks like you need to chop it up if you're serious about making power friendo

But the interior is super nice, it'd be a waste to toss it all. I want to drop 400+ horses into it but I can't afford it. Even if I gutted the thing I still don't think it could drift because it makes like 150hp on a good day. The only good thing about a 150hp V8 is that it lasts fucking forever because no amount of throttle could possibly stress the internals.

that is the dilemma. You should DD it until you have enough money to drop a nice motor into it and turn it into a highway couch missile

I have a DD, the wagon is in my garage. I'm not OP in case that wasn't clear, just talking about drifting shitboxes.

V8 swapped S10.

Why do I have the feeling your the only guy who knows what he's talking about in this thread

will require custom work to basically turn it into a car if you want it to handle, that one is at least back halved but prolly a whole custom tube chassis.

Drifting is for swagfag ricers and cunts. Make a fast car not a useless one.
