Just buy my Ninja 250 for $1200. It's an 05 with 7k miles. Has sonic springs in the forks with 15wt fork oil (sprung for a 190-200lb rider) and brand new front and rear tires.

The only bad part is that the title has an odometer discrepancy and that the fairings are off becaues I am a retard and don't know how to put them back on

Lel if you work the weed right the money will be better. That shit's the best when you have like 5 people who grab ounces and sell and you get a pound or two a week just dealing with those few people. Make like $50 on each ounce or like $100 on the QP, and you really only have to do a couple deals a day to clear an extra $1000+ cash for the week.

Do you niggers have separate ac units in your bunks? My truck has this heavy ass air conditioner in my bunk that I think has its own batteries and it blows freezing air all night without the engine running, I love it. But my truck is in the shop and my master set me up in a loaner truck that doesn't have the bunk ac unit. Then today I started noticing most trucks I see don't have a separate ac unit. So what, am I supposed to open all the windows and sleep like I'm at fucking boy scouts camp sweaty and covered in bugs? Or am I supposed to just idle the engine all night just to keep the ac running?
>>
>>17146448
just idle the engine faggot.
>>
>>17146464
It's auto start stop. My first night in this heap of shit I couldn't even get the bunk fan to blow air unless the key was half turned and auto stop start was turned off. Ended up somehow draining the battery with just a fan blowing outside air and had to get jump started in the morning. I'm thinking maybe if I go to sleep with all my lights and my headlights on it will drain my batteries, thus causing the truck to start itself up again all night to keep a charge, thus creating cold air.
>>
>>17146448
>>17146499
Need details idjit. What year/make/model of truck? Does it have an APU?

>>17146646
Prolapse, most likely 2015. I don't think it has an ap unit. On the passenger side where my AP air intake was it's just another key entry door like on the driver's side. But there's some kind of machine in there, I think it's a heater.

This is what my temp console looks like.
>>
>>17146711
Well then if there's no APU bolted to the frame behind the cabin, then it has no APU. What you're talking about is probably a bunk heater. So yeah in that case you'd have to have the truck running for A/C. Now, some newer trucks, like the Freightliner Cascadia, have a 'smart idle' feature that'll fire up the engine automatically as needed. See if there's a sticker on the dash about it. Of course, a Prolapse is a totally different truck, but I've heard they've got a similar system.
>>
>>17146737
Yes there is some sort of "smart idle" system. It fires up the engine when the battery gets too low to keep the battery from dying. That's why I was thinking about keeping all my driving lights and headlights turned on all night. They'll drain the battery, engine will kick on to recharge battery, and wa la. Cold air.
>>
>>17146790
Yep. I'd leave the headlamps off as a matter of courtesy, the auxiliary lights will drain it quickly enough. And the word you're looking for there is 'voilà.' Kek

Pretrip: done

Seriously though I do a pretrip every morning but it takes less than 3 minutes. I turn on my headlights and flashers, make sure everything light works, thump all my tires, and make sure nobody disconnected my airlines or pulled the latch to unhook my trailer or tandems. I actually pop the hood to check my oil level and look at the engine about once a month.

Going out to a job on a logging haul road last weekend, I hit some bad washboard and broke a shock mount on one of the drive axles, which bent the air suspension valve shut, deflating the air bags more and more with each bump.

The increased pounding of the road before I could slow down enough, with no air suspension broke a couple of bolts on the fan hub, causing the fan to rub against the shroud if I went any faster than 50 km/h.

Somethings wrong with the AC in my truck, I keep complaining to my cumknee about it, and over the past 2 months, 2 terminal-enrolled knuckle dragging grease monkies, a TA service center, and finally even a fucking dealership have all "tried" and failed to fix it.
What's a way I can ruin, or at least incapacitate, this piece of shit without it being so obviously deliberate that I'd get fired, so they'll have to put me in a new truck?
Someone recommended putting DEF in the fuel tank but that would be clearly my fault. I've been trying to grind down my reverse gear but that's not working, or it's at least taking too long.

This retarded driver... did I mention he's retarded?

Well he was turning out of a parking lot and hit a parked car so bad that he spun it around 90deg in the spot, and it ended up hitting another car that got pushed slightly into one more car. So he fucked up 3 parked cars. They were on the driver's side of his trailer when he did it too and he drove away.

But even not being retarded, it is true. Cars get crumpled so easily that when this Pilot got rekt I never even felt it but I had my window down and heard the metal crunching so I stopped.
>>
>>17158933

Thats complicated. Just tie a piece of rope around the main air/electrical line bundle and leave it near the drive shaft. If it gets sucked in at highway speeds shafts are known to suck wires all the way from the engine. Unless its some really expensive unit, its an easy way to write a truck off, the cost to even have someone redo the airlines kills it.

how dumb is it to buy a truck with not a whole lot of experience? I just started driving last summer but have a lot of connections in my area and think I'd be able to do okay as an o/o.

and on a semi-related note does anyone know anything about glider kits going away? I know there are always some rumors going around but someone was trying to tell me that they're making it so that now you can't buy one unless you bought one last year, and next year they'll have to meet 2011 emissions standards or something. I can't find a single thing confirming or really even hinting toward this and I'm guessing he's just being a stupid fuck, but can anyone confirm?

Seriously, though, glider kits have been "going away" for the past 6 years, and what people fail to realize is that if you buy any truck it will be grandfathered in and you'll be able to get it registered and go anywhere except California.

As far as the whole boondoggle goes, it really depends on the individual. I've known guys who are killing it and making six figure incomes, and I know guys who blew their life savings, lost the house and had to go back to working at Prime or something. At the very least in this industry, you always got that fallback.

>tfw first day of new e-loga
It syncs up with the truck so mostly just have to pre-trip the tractor and trailer and forget about it. Main upside is no more logs if I work over 12hrs. Downside is I can't even idle the truck on my 30 or it counts as driving. But the whole rule that you have to take the 30 before you hit 8hrs, that doesn't count anymore since the logs prove we weren't driving the whole first 8hrs. I could take my 30 11hrs into my shift.

The 8 hour works like the 14, not the 11, in that it's constantly draining from the time you start. If you start your PTI at 0800, you have to take a 30 minute break at our before 1600, it doesn't matter if you drove 7¾ hours or 1.

Idk, Pepsi claims it's different. We still have to take the 30 if we work over 12hrs but I guess for short haul since we aren't driving that whole 8hrs, it doesn't matter.

But if they're not employees, how do you make sure they don't wander off with the stock or equipment?

Here in the first world, there are full-time employees with minimum wage, free healthcare, state pension, union membership, company pension, and strong labour laws.
>>
>>17174032
>But if they're not employees, how do you make sure they don't wander off with the stock or equipment?
I don't know, not my problem. Some lumpers own their own equipment, so even if you wanted to unload it yourself, you couldn't.
>Here in the first world, there are full-time employees with minimum wage, free healthcare, state pension, union membership, company pension, and strong labour laws.
We have all that too but we also have a free market and our companies have the freedom to choose whether or not they want to buy into all that stuff. If you can get your product unloaded without having to pay employees to do it and have all the stuff associated with having employees, you reduce your operation costs and maximize profits. It's a free market. But hey, we only have the strongest economy and largest GDP in the world so what do we know
>>
>>17172343
Even with 2+ years experience a first year O/O is going to struggle to gross $100k, and with your lack of experience you're going to end up throwing $25k+ at insurance alone vs $10k or so for a more experienced driver. On top of the $10-20k a new used truck is going to suck down getting buttoned up in the first year, plus a conservative $35k you're going to blow on fuel, if you're ok with making $0.25/mi net profit or less (truck payment and IFTA aside), go for it.

The EU is full of poor countries like Poland and Italy. Cut it down to the major economies, and you have a GDP per population similar or greater than the US.
The MAJOR problem is that we ripped the shit out of our industrial base twice in the space of a few decades, then set fire to everything and lost half of the continent to communism for 50 years.
Imagine if all the major american cities were nuked, and then the west coast seceded for a few decades. Your economy would be dead after that.
On top of all that, it's only recently that continental Europe hasn't had a major war every few decades to kill off all the excess population, so we're now paying for an ageing population.

>Not doing a lease purchase

It's like you don't want to be Driven By The Best (tm)

>>17169462

Cliffnotes version.

Back in the glory days, the ICC (Interstate Commerce Commission) ruled that grocers couldn't charge drivers to unload their freight. The grocers all got together and agreed to terminate their lumpers, but at the last minute made them all independent contractors and at the same time defunded the ICC, which is essentially what FMCSA is today. These guys all kept their jobs and went O/O in the lumper world and when you would show up to unload they would gather around your truck and bid on a rate to unload you.

Some places still do a watered-down version of this, I went to a Giant where they had lumpers assigned to doors and the lumpers would make you an offer on your unload rate and you could haggle with them. Since I Drive For The Best(tm) we don't pay lumpers The Best(tm) does.

The more you know.

No, I'm learning as I go since I can drive a straight truck and bobtail by my self. On July 1st Ontario is instituting mandatory driver training at 3rd party driving schools before you can do anything. Before, all you had to do was pass the written test, drive with a person who's had their full license for at least 5 years, and take the road test in a year. Can't do that anymore.

No, it's best to learn all of the aspects of driving from the beginning, rather than separately and having to mix them together later on. That way you don't build up any bad habits before starting with trailers - like turning from the curb lane and taking out a pole. It's easier to adjust to not having a trailer than it is the opposite.

>>17183607
If you think that's at all what he said, you're the retard.
Shifting is fucking easy as shit in the first place and shouldn't take more than a day to learn. Takes a bit to master it, but you can learn the basic mechanics in a yard somewhere.
Meanwhile, in the trailer department, you start off with an empty trailer and the wheels forward. After you've learned how to control a combination vehicle, you start getting into loaded trailers, tandem placement, and doubles.

Or, if you insist on learning how to shift on a straight truck, which serves really no purpose at all, you'd still be in a yard running through 2~6, so you might as well have a trailer already anyway.
And if you think anyone needs fucking training on driving around in the city in a bobtail, then you must be shilling for some 12 week CDL school
