Bush just didn't get anything done to prevent it.

Obama and the Democrat Congress added 9 trillion to the debt. Then Obama oversaw another 3 trillion debt as the Republicans took over.

I'd say that we fell right into a preventable recession because of blind greed. It would be nice if we had some -regulation- before the world had to eat dirt.

Thankfully now we have some stopgaps to prevent another mortgage disaster (until the GOP fucks us on that one), so now we only have to look forward to the student lending bubble, the advertisement bubble, and the boomer bubble (not really a bubble though, just a time of market uncertainty).
>>
>>17128034
It's true. Humans are retarded.

When the going is good, people get shit loads of loans and mortgages. Usually living day to day. Then some sort of thing happens, layoffs, stock market crashes, or people simply can't pay up. It's all a domino effect. People learn, they start saving, stop making loans, things start picking up again and it repeats.

There was a dip in the 30's, 50's, 80's, and 00's . Along with some housing bubbles and the .com bubble.

Show me on the graph where President Trump touched you.

It's been going up for YEARS thanks to some defensive financial moves from the executive branch back in 2009-2010.

When will conservatives learn that the way to a strong economy is through taxing the rich and keeping a tight hold on banking?

I mean seriously, the last time we balanced the Federal Budget was thanks to George H.W. Bush's tax increases, and the economy during the 1990s was booming because of it.

Trump just praised Duterte as an effective leader, a man that has killed over 8,000 people to date in drug-related crimes. Not like trafficking or anything, for shit like possession.

Not to mention Trump prides himself on being sober for most (all?) of his life.

Contrast that to a couple years ago when the head of the DEA said he wouldn't be pursuing any grow operations in states that had decriminalized marijuana.

Because some laws are meant to be ignored. Not all laws are just or even effective, they're just rules that a select group of people saw as necessary for one reason or another.

It's not really a gamble if you also own the lawmarkers, the advertising firms, and buy out the competition.

I'll never understand sympathy for rich people. We step over homeless people in the streets, feel sorta sad when an old lady loses her house, but suddenly we all have to cry because some corporation is taking on new taxes.

For legal work? There's nothing wrong with advertising, even if you don't agree with the company.

A lot of this has to deal with Person A having more cash than Person B, so Person A has more logistical leverage than Person B in just about every societal area.

>Invest IS work

You're crazy if you think most wealthy people actively control their own investments. They have a vague idea of what is in the books, might play around in the markets for fun, but the real cash is holed up in 401k's, IRAs, and mutual funds that are backed by investments from a firm like Morgan Stanley or BofA.

People that 'lose it all' aren't very common in today's economic world. The economy for the rich is still booming, so if you own stock in anything worth its salt, you're set until the next bubble bursts.

Then how do you justify companies like Wal Mart? They should have plenty of ability to insure their workforce but instead they just cut down the hours people were working.

>Capitalism proved to be horseshit

Yes actually, or do you think das kapital is a book about communism? as I told you before some people spend all day working while I reap the benefits simply because of the fact that the government defends my investments, just as marx pointed out

You've never read das kapital, so why do you even respond lmao
>>
>>17128789

Or...the Waltons who are worth a collective $149billion dollars, would rather keep watching their own pockets fill up rather than ever give their employees something so trivial as health insurance.

This is why I have no sympathy for the rich. Tax them. Tax the fuck out of them.
>>
>>17128804
B-but they are the job creators!!!!
>>
Reminder the name fag is a mexican (with a hard x)
>>
>>17128789
Right, so blame the govt for imposing those rules on Wal Mart, therefore it's the govt's fault for the cut hours.

Why does a company HAVE to provide those things? The government is just meddling in the market which makes things worse.

>>17128804
>would rather keep watching their own pockets fill up rather than ever give their employees something so trivial as health insurance.
It's their business, who cares? They donate. They pay their employees half decent for the work they do.

You people don't see that forcefully taking people money = being a frugal dickhead, it's all immoral

>they donate

https://www.forbes.com/sites/clareoconnor/2014/06/03/report-walmarts-billionaire-waltons-give-almost-none-of-own-cash-to-family-foundation/#5df0e19e7d52

Not all of them.

>The report goes on to detail how the Foundation has been funded over the years, namely by tax-avoiding trusts established with assets provided by the late Sam, Helen and John Walton or their estates. The study found that 99% of the Foundation's contributions since 2008 have been channeled through 21 Charitable Lead Annuity Trusts. These CLATs, as they're known, are specifically designed to help ultra-wealthy families avoid estate and gift taxes.

Again, you don't understand how any of this shit fucking works. These 'foundations' and 'charities' are literally just shell non-profit corporations that can tunnel the millions right back into these people's pockets. It's not like they're riding through Harlem giving out scholarships to kids or through West Virginia helping old mining towns out with their crushing poverty. They throw a couple million in the pot, let their accountant and lawyers run it through the financial system, and eventually they get it back in a nice check for some 'work well done'.

You are so willfully ignorant of how this system works, how can you really defend these people for being 'job creators'. do you know why they create jobs? so you and all of your peers can go to work for $7.50-$11 an hour and do all the shit work that they don't want to do, all so they can ride back and forth from Arkansas to Monaco and enjoy the luxuries of life that you never will.

Don't forget, these people haven't worked a day in their lives. They show up to meetings, sign a few papers, and let the accountants do the rest.

God bless capitalism
>>
>>17128815
I'll never understand the mentality of people who support big business
Kiss ass all you want they will never let you join their "inner circle"

A small business owner busts his ass own 60+ hours a week and pays his employees as well as he possibly can, benefits, leave and sick days, loading rates, lojg service leave etc... he is taxed to the tune of 30%+
A company like Apple uses save labor and pays less than 1% corporate tax.

Explain how that isn't immoral
>>
>>17128842
Then that's a shame, they SHOULD donate, I'm sure there's a group somewhere, or you can boycott if you care that much. Sucks but it's their money sadly.

>do you know why they create jobs? so you and all of your peers can go to work for $7.50-$11 an hour and do all the shit work that they don't want to do
WOW, IT'S LIKE THEY CREATE AN ADULT AGREEMENT! YOU DO X FOR ME, AND X MAKES ME MONEY, I'LL GIVE YOU MONEY FOR DOING X, IS THIS ACCEPTABLE? IF NOT YOU CAN GO THOUSANDS OF OTHER PLACES FOR THIS MONEY

>>17128844
Checked, and I DON'T agree with that, that's retarded. It should be a flat tax
>>
>>17128847
Why should a small business that puts back into the communuty pay the same rate of tax as a multi billion dollar company that uses slave labor?
>>
>>17128847

Man, you are so brainwashed. Watch The Big Short, it will re-instill your faith in big business and the way our economic system works. It's on netflix, it's a nice feel-good movie.
>>
>>17128847
>A flat tax will stop them from evading taxes

Lel!
>>
>>17128852
Because it's fair, why should they be forced to pay more?
>they use slave labor
Ok, but forcing a company to pay extra is cool, but providing a source of capital for willing and consenting people is evil? I'm confused

>>17128854
You find them evading taxes, expose it and boycott. There are ways around this

Kill yourself cuck

Lel!
>>
>>17128026
This is dumb. The housing crisis occurred in part due to deregulation. Sure, nobody fully controls the economy but we can do lots of things to influence it.
>>
>>17128862
Not the companies' fault that you have two kids and didn't go get a trade job or something, you willingly accepted the job and work there. It's a market, go somewhere else if you can, if not you just have to power through it.

That's why capitalism is beautiful, it's survival of the fittest, Darwinism in it's purest.

There are still big companies paying tradesmen with 20+ years experience the absolute minimum they can

You sound like a neet who has never held a job and has taken a stupid position on workers right for the sake of being contrarian and in opposition of le silly college liberal commies

Henry Ford introduced a 40 hour work week and payed his employees double what rival companies did
He was a hero
Everyone at the time hated him, except for the workers
Do you hate Henry Ford? Are you a dodge brothers kike?

>>
>>17128918
Of course not you nigger.

Henry Ford is amazing, he did what everyone SHOULD do, he treated his employees with respect and such. Ford is the perfect example of the free market; if you treat your people like shit, then they won't work hard or you won't find somebody to do the work because they'll go work for the Dodge Kikes because they get payed more. No government needed, if there's a finite number of workers that'll do something as simple as assembly line work, then he who offers the best will get the best. You don't like a fucking government to say what to do.

Do people not fucking understand what I'm arguing? I don't like people being exploited, but it's THEIR CONSENT, when the government steps in and makes a business do such WITHOUT consent such as minimum wage or force them to provide something, it's horseshit
