I like doing my own maintenance on my car. it saves on repair costs and I find it overall satisfying.
With that in mind, What would be considered a car that is easy to work on and do my own maintenance on? I'm in the market for a used car.
pic related: don't want rotary.
but triangles are piss easy to maintain though, especially naturally aspirated ones

That might be true, but I'm also hoping for decent fuel economy and don't want to have to add a quart of oil in everyday before going to work.

first off, maintenance =/= repairs
repairs are something you do when the vehicle doesn't work right
maintenance is something you have to do to keep the car running well
these categories are almost always exclusive
and most manufacturers (besides BMW) make it easy to replace fluids and consumable parts
>what car is good for repairs?
Trucks: large engine bays, lots of ground clearance, big parts
>TL;DR: get a civic and STFU

I'm an aircraft mechanic and certified commercial pilot, I KNOW the difference betoween maintenance and repairs, thank you very much for the clarification tough, needless as it was.
It might also interest you to know that I already have a 2003 civic and I consider it shit to repair AND maintain.
>bought a civic, didn't STFU
>can't maintain AND repair an I4 hondub

On the top of my head :
D14 civic
4AFE corolla
The two cheapest and easiest cars I've ever had to maintain.

Just stick with the bus

Anything powered by an SBC.
Fuel economy is overrated. In case of LS, it's not even that bad.

This.
It is piston fag's butthurt that started the reliability rumors when the rx7's hit store shelves. All early engines had flaws but ever since the FC, things were actually pretty smooth sailing. Renesis rotary is spot on with reliability. I own one and other than excessive spark plug use, I don't do anything more than I do to my honda fit. And I race the fuck out of my rx8. So it sees tons more abuse than my honda.
Either way, I'd go with something you like. If you don't want a rotary, don't get a rotary.
