The animation almost becomes part of its charm after a while, it's clear they were working with a budget of two old dell desktops found in a dumpster. There was a really short OVA after the series ended that the director paid for out of pocket because he loves the show so much.
It has absolutely exploded in popularity in Japan and every zoo that does a collaboration goes from almost no visitors to hundreds/thousands overnight.
They'll have the budget for proper animation when it gets a sequel.

My problem with your postcard designs is that there's not enough contrast between the letters and the background. If I remember right, the forest one is green on green. The Roanapur one is just a clusterfuck of color inside the letters but the beach background is okay. Maybe your letters aren't thick enough or the outline isn't.

With the roanapur one it was supposed it be iconic scenes from the shows settings in each of the letters, over a background of the ocean. I can throw together a concept with just the shot of the defaced bhudda overlooking the Bay in the text sometime later if you'd like.

The difficulty with the suicide forest slap is that theres not very many (good quality) hi-res photos of the iconic areas of the forest. The best shot I found was of the sign, but the photo is pretty small making my best option to throw it in the text. I spitballed a more minimalist, earthy two-tone background but it just didn't feel quite right at the time. That may have just been the high-detail trees I used or the colors, but if you'd like I can take a second swing that idea as well.
I just used the mountain show since it looked nice and dramatic while having a nice amount of both sky and forest in view. I was looking at it a whole back actually and noticed that up close the borders on the text were pretty hard to read, but from a distance the while border was actually Suprisingly easy to read.

Here's an example. I just googled "retro post card" but it's a pretty good version of what I'm talking about.
The background is a color gradient and the contents of the letters, while full-color detailed scenes, are generally a more pastel-colored reversal of the background.
BG has red/yellow on top and blue on the bottom, and letters have yellow on the bottom and blue on the top. The letters are very clearly defined and don't share colors with the background.
Then to make it pop even more, there's white AND black outlines and a shadow. I've seen others where the shadow and outline were colored, but they're all engineered in the same way. High contrast.

To be honest there are plenty of cursive like fonts where the capital letter in a word doesn't meet with the next letter, and plenty that do.
Also, with the original logo, you already know what the letters are as you know the business, making it easier to see what they want you to.

That's something I'm noticing a lot these days, kids' stuff tries to be cute but the "artists" who made it are Full Sail dropouts and never took a proper art class about facial expressions or proportions and have probably never even heard of the Golden Ratio. They're trying to copy Japan's cuteness but all they can figure is "exaggerated features = cute." So we end up with garbage like Bratz, Shopkins, Trucktown, etc where they just look bizarre. It sells anyway because kids haven't developed enough to give a shit and these people sadly remain employed.

Betty Boop was creepy too. Western animation may have come first but Japan improved upon it. West/East isn't really the argument here though because there's good looking western stuff too. It's just extremely rare because western artists are generally lazy hacks where nips put real effort into everything they do.
Pixar's Cars, while being engineered to sell merchandise, is still very good looking. They're not creepy because the pixar artists didn't do that "headlights = eyes" thing that every other show or movie does that makes them all look like they have downs syndrome. Pixar's artists are actually good at their job and know how to make something aesthetically pleasing instead of throwing facial features at the wall and seeing what sticks. It's more than east vs west, it's a very core knowledge of what looks good and what doesn't, and the ability to apply that to your designs so you don't fall into the uncanny valley. It just happens east does it better more often.

Being serious, there's lots of bumper space on that which I would recommend using instead of the window. But it all clashes with the color. Maybe put a few on the right oriented so text is readable if you stand on the passenger side looking across.

One thing preventing me from selling my designs is the Shipping aspect. What's the most cost-effective way to ship these, and how much of your man-power are you factoring into total cost, having to do labels, package, and ship?

The way I do it is I print an invoice on printer paper, fold it in half, put the stickers inside of that, and then surround that with folded in half 110lb card stock, all into a 6x9" self-sealing envelope. If you buy in bulk envelopes are like two cents each. I print addresses onto my envelopes using a regular inkjet printer but you can write on them or use labels as well.

Then I go to the post office and order three types of stamps - 49c (domestic), $1.15 (mexico and canada), and $1.49 (international.)

I charge a buck domestic and a buck fifty to Canada/Mexico, and 2 bucks international.

USPS. Envelopes and stamps. Add cardstock to prevent bending. Das about it. I don't worry about factoring in things for cost. I just try to make a little profit to keep motivated and have funds to go toward future releases.

Personally, I just print the invoice and thank you note on the cardstock. And I use stamps.com to save myself trips to the PO.
