I've been to 3 mechanics and 1 front end shop. They've all said everything looks fine. Well it's not.

-My steering is too stiff and heavy.
-When I brake, I hear a creaking/clunk more pronounced when turning (ONLY in Drive)
-I can feel every single bump on the road and my front struts squench/squeak on big ones
-My braking seems to take longer than usual and It feels like I'm slightly nosediving but I could be imagining.
-Highway speeds there is vibration

I've been told it is my strut mounts or steering rack. Pretty much impossible for it to be rack considering the symptoms. I'm thinking the struts themselves. I've been on every single forum imaginable and 3 mechanics.

Please Help. It's a 2008 Impala with only 66,000 miles.

I put some money into smaller stuff trying to solve the problem by chance. I went with a new engine mount and new control arm bushings. Sway bar links were recently changed, and no visible leaks or cuts from CV boot. Tie rod ends and control arms have no play.
>>
Is the vibration felt through the steering wheel more than the floor?
>>

Slight vibration in steering wheel.
Not as noticeable as the floor vibrations.
I'll look over to my right and see the passenger headrest vibrating too. Also hearing rattles that I've never heard before due to the vibrations.

This is a very clean car and drove like a smooth sailing barge literally 1000 miles ago.
>>
I'm scheduled to get my front end struts replaced next week.

I'm hoping this solves the problem. Although if anyone here on /o/ can solve the problem through the web that might make me change course. You're my last stand /o/.

Shit that sucks.

A buddy of mine had an issue with his steering rack and he had some similar symptoms, but in his case you could really feel the vibration through his steering column more than the floors, but only at highway speeds.

Were the sway bar links changed before or after the stuff started happening?

>Pretty much impossible for it to be rack considering the symptoms
It could be a bent intermediate shaft.

>only in DRIVE
I found your problem ohpee, you're driving an autotragic but the shops don't have the heart to tell you you're driving a pretend car, therefore they just say it's fine.

How would this correlate with me feeling road bumps and creaking only when braking and turning? It doesn't creak if I'm just cruising. Steering is pretty normal in reverse and neutral too.
>>
Could bad struts/mounts/springs cause this to happen?

Have you considered that it might be several worn out/busted nylon bushings in your front end assembly?
>>
>replace struts
>replace strut mounts
>get tires balanced

There you go. That should fix most of your problems.
>>
>>17106993
If it creaks while you brake then you need new shims around your brake pads. Steering is heavy cause your alignment is fucked.

> hurr durr I'll ask for help on an anime imageboard instead of trusting someone who did a several year apprenticeship to earn his qualifications in the automotive repair industry

kys for making me reply to this bait

Almost sounds like a motor/transmission mount is bad and something is rubbing against your steering shaft while in drive.
>>
Could be the axle especially if it creaks while turning and not otherwise.
>>
>>17109508
But only when I am turning and breaking low speeds (while in drive)
