All i know is contrary to the belief of people on honda forums, no k swapping an old 6/7thgen civic isn't cheaper than modifications. Fully built k engines with transmission i've only seen go from 800$ to 1600$. While there are custom parts the original owner put in the engine and tranny in my d17a2 the parts i know are well below 1k. What you need to consider with k engines are torque spec, weight, mounts, and aftermarket. Only time its worth it, with hype prices most of them have, is if your engine is shit or ded then pull from a ded car with a k engine or get lucky on eBay and Craigslist. Thats just my experience knowing a lot of people that engine swap.

My d17a2 only makes in the 130 hp range though thing seems to have stock setup for how lean it burns which it might not need. The stage one cam gives most the power in my car i think.

If you have bad synchros all you have to do is gently hold the shifter into the gear you want and youll feel it slip in when its the right RPM

It's a bit more complicated, pretty much just 1st -> 2nd. I cannot shift into 2nd gear from 1st above around 5500RPM at all unless I double de-clutch.

Sometimes it will also refuse to go into gear at low RPMs with a lovely grind sound before I quickly double de-clutch to get it into gear.

It's probably created from the large gap between the 1st gear and 2nd gear ratio. 1st gear tops out around 40kmph, 2nd gear around 110kmph. And it's been like this since I bought the car from a shite dealership.

Was gifted a car, '03 RSX Type S. Many things wrong with it, been changing whatever needs done. CEL came on, checked obd ii and it says idle air control valve system. From what I can tell, RPMs aren't jumping and it idles at 1k. Forums say it's a common issue with the IACV and it just needs a cleaning. Car has 85k miles.

Car had ebay coilovers in the front with civic springs and blown struts. Found a complete set of stock front and back struts dated 2016 for $225 and changed them out. New tie rods, alignment, oil change and filter, had to make another key because it only came with one. Replaced the knock sensor, had to solder on a new connector for it. It has a cold air, but I think I might just replace it with a short ram because the weather here is cold for 7 months out of the year with snow and rain. 4th synchro is bad so you have to granny shift from 3rd into neutral, hold it for a second, then bring it down into 4th for minimal grind.

Oh, and also replaced the transmission fluid with amsoil synchromesh because 3rd kept popping out of gear. Now it locks into place with no pop.

Fixed the issue, took it apart, sprayed some brake cleaner in the throttle body and the connectors and let it dry. Engine light went off and car seems to idle normally. Air filter was fucked though.

Can I just take a pipe from a part store and make it a short ram? Filter is too close to the ground and gets soaked and filled with mud. Or should I just buy a cheap short ram on eBay?

FML, I'm stranded at a gas station at 4:35 in the morning. My Integra started misfiring on the interstate while driving home with a blinking CEL, making absolutely no powerr. Now it won't start, it pretty much dies instantly and if I open the throttle a little bit I hear a loud pop from the exhaust

It's a 2000 with a B18B1. Idle is really shitty like it's running on 2 or 3 cylinders. After an hour of sitting there I somehow managed get it to start up and run without dying, and about 30 seconds after getting on the interstate it started to misfire with a flashing CEL which went solid. Gonna pull the code after I rest, right now I'm just glad I managed to limp it home

My gear lever has about an inch of play in my Integra, I've watched a few videos and guess it's probably the bushings and it's a relatively simple replacement. Question is, what's a normal amount of play? I prefer absolutely none, but I'm not sure I didn't just have total honeymoon mode rose glases on when I first got it and failed to notice the existing, normal amount of play. Will a new set of bushings on my shifter give me the "on rails" feel? Will it last more than a week? Am I just a lousy shifter?

I've been doing some research on headers for my first gen Honda Fit. Dyno charts apparently say the WeaponR race headers add 11 HP.
