Power steering is going to be the LEAST of your problems, buddy. Two words; Apex Seals.
>>17088221
>RX8
Please tell me you at least asked the owner about the car's maintenance history and/or how he treated/drove the car
Because you might have some apex seal problems in the future
>>17088457
>>17088421
know all about the apex,
bought from old man in his 80s, kept it well.
Did research, took a junkyard engine apart once, I can replace the seals myself.
>>17088221
I'm actually planning on buying one myself at the end of the summer so have a free bump
>>17088478
You can't just replace the seals in a renesis engine, one they apex seals go they take the housings with them.
Any damage done to the chrome surface of the housing ruins it and they are not repairable.
You'd spend over 3k rebuilding it.
>bought from old man in his 80s, kept it well.
Thats not a good sign, an 80yr old man would have never redlined the car even once.
He probably babied the fuck of it never shifting over 3k rpm.
Which is bad for rotary engines, they need to driven hard to clear the carbon from the housings and secondary port actuators to prevent them from becoming carbon locked and failing.
>not doing your own work
>owning an rx8
I hope you're rich anon. Mechanics like emptying wallets.
