>Cop decides to nudge the bike as it slows down to take a tight turn

>>17086328
Rich Urban Biker.

Anyways I got a question.

If you drop a carburated motorcycle horizontal is it normal for the carb or engine to flood?

Everytime I drop my bike fucking about in the woods it runs dangerously shitty and stalls at highway speed, ect until I drain the carb bowl. Its frustrating as fuck.

I don't remember this ever happening with dirt bikes as a kid but this bike has a bigger engine or someshit?
>>
>>17086357
it should have an overflow tube to drain the gas when it's lying on its side

the first time I dropped my bike and saw gas pouring out I thought I sheared through the tank but it was just the overflow tube letting it trickle out

they are both in the wrong but the cop seems to be trying to live out a power trip fantasy and knowingly pulled a maneuver that would almost certainly end in a high speed crash for the biker while also putting other drivers at risk

What's a good starter bike for a 6'5" guy?
So far I've been looking at the Versys 650, SV650 and MT-07 ABS (I like the latter the most).
I'd like it to be comfy but at the same time sporty-ish. Also I don't want to die, so it should be ideally easy to drive, even with 0 bike experience.

Dual sports are great for long legged riders.

Anyone riding down my street is fucking annoying to be honest. Production motorcycles are far too loud and the electric revolution for normie riders can't come too soon. The worst are the cunts on two stroke enduros, you can hear them approaching and leaving for up to half a mile in this river valley.

HOWEVER apart from the river valley thing this also comes down to me living next to a main road, but I can't afford to move out yet.

The electrical issues are becoming seriously problematic now.
Battery died on me again. Bike cut out on a roundabout when I stopped, had to push it two miles to somewhere I could figure out what the fuck, because it wouldn't even bump-start. It turned on, struggled a bit, then shut off again. Then it wouldn't even turn over.
Had to call and get the bike taken home in a van. Replaced the battery, took it for a test ride, lights still don't fucking work.
I have a horrible feeling the two are connected, so it's off to the mechanic as soon as I can organise it.

Honda CBF125, so the lights are meant to be always on. Charging system and alternator have been okayed by the mechanic, however.

So few weeks ago I got a bike, Kawasaki ER-5 for about $800.
The dude was a great friend, and he ended with bikes, beause he is too afraid. Had it for 14 years and never fucked him over.

Anyway, as a starter bike for me, I changed the oil with the filter as well, and it says that there is 3,4l of oil. I poured about 3,1l in there, and the little window for the oil got completely full. However if I start it, it is around half way up. Is it alright or should I put some oil out?

>>17087465
Maintaining them is fine, fixing them is another entirely.
>>
>>17087453
Look into the tank as you fill it. Any modern fuel pump nozzle will have an auto cut off, it's not the tank that cuts off fuel delivery. As soon as the fuel level reaches the end of the nozzle it'll turn off. You can keep filling slowly though to top it off. My bike (FZ-07) has a full tank marker so I know when it's full without being overfilled. You just gotta eyeball it.
>>
>>17087453

Thumpers are lighter and have more low end torque than a multicylinder engine of equal diaplacement.

Problem is they can't rev and redline at 8000rpms so they suck at higher speeds. So 0-60 time will be like 5.2 seconds, 60-100 time is like 3 minutes.

Don't even let wet weekends stop you. Get a decent suit & learn how to ride well with reduced traction.

Also, regarding the fueling: stopping when the nozzle cuts out due to detecting immersion is fine. Filling to the brim is only helpful if you don't think you'll see a service station for a long time. Overfilling pretty much only means putting in so much fuel that it pisses out over the top all over your paintwork.

I don't know if all bikes are like this, but I have to fill it up to the rings, let it settle, and repeat the process a few times before it's actually full. Kitty and Jorge(his gay Mexican lover and drug dealer) crashed on the way to a gay brothel on the Nevada-Utah border. Kitty was traveling at 75mph on I-80 westbound when the Oscar Meier Weinermobile passed them going in the other direction. Due to Kitty's insatiable thirst for wiener he swerved and made a u-turn so he could pursue the wiener mobile. When the pilot of the wiener mobile spotted the two insatiable cockhounds on his tail he emptied his dual overhead grease traps. Due to the now adverse road conditions Kitty lost cost control and collided with the guardrail. Unfortunately Jorge was killed instantly on impact. Kitty still overcome with his cocklust began felatiating Jorge's now lifeless body. When the Mormon Anti-Degerancy patrol arrived on the scene Kitty was summarily executed for violating Utah's strict anti-homosexuality laws. I have been on night shifts for more than half of my 12 years in the USAF. Not as bad as some, but still pretty rough to be completely disregarded by "support" and "leadership" functions while on 12s overnight.

I once had a commander (a shitstain on all that was, is, and shall be the USAF) who ordered me and a couple of other people stay after shift to do a Wing run. This sack of shit didn't even participate himself, but wanted "maximum participation." I was there for 13 hours before we even formed up. This was at the end of a 6 day stint with only two days (really about 42 hours because of rolling to a new showtime) off beforehand, and with a leave balance approaching 90 days.

So yeah, some people work nights and we get shit on enough, thanks.

thats because you rode a couple bikes converted by idiots who don't know anything about suspension, such as yourself

also pretty clear you cant ride judging by the webm of you going through a corner practically vertical, and the fact that you can't tell there is a massive improvement in roadhandling with 17" wheels

no, no you can't. Sure you can see the the thing but you can't see a bike. It's just a blob, it looks like a shadow going the wrong way.

Even if your bike wasn't there, and it was just a photo of the road it would still be bad photo. The left side is a black abyss, the sky is totaly blown out, the streaky lensflare going counter to the grain of the image and that combined with the twigs on the right hand side make it look like there is distortion or artifacting on the right.

I'm not trying to shit on you, or your bike, its just a bad photo.

I'm sorry video doesn't reflect speed well. I was never trying to brag on myself as a rider anyway. It was only to show an example of the typical supermoto riders I was talking about, who brag about their bikes handling well then fail to execute a simple corner.

>converted by idiots
As most supermotos are.

>dual sport handles just as well
In my opinion, yes. I like the "dirt bike" feel. Dirt bikes with road wheels handle less like dirt bikes. If I wanted something that cornered well on road, I would buy a sport bike (and I did).

I don't know why you turned this into a personal argument. I just wanted to offer my advice to not waste the hundreds of dollars in a futile attempt to make an old dual sport into a better street bike.

You made it personal by complaining about people who can't ride, then revealed yourself to be the exact person you're complaining about

you also told someone not to buy a supermoto because you personally don't like the people who ride supermotos

i own sportbikes, supermotos, and dual sports (with real dirt tires and dualsport tires), and the differences between them are night and day. not to mention you can do things with supermotos that you wouldn't dream of on a sportbike, and they can handle roads much rougher and tighter

tl;dr you're a dumbass and should stop posting

I can't operate the fuel pump while sitting on the bike. Most gas stations around here make you go inside to pay anyway, so getting back on the bike to fuel up, then off the bike to put the nozzle away, then back on the bike to ride off is just silly. Much easier to just put the kickstand down, get off to pay and fuel up, then back on to ride away. How does that make someone a new rider?

My justification for not buying a supermoto was in their lack of benefits over the DR he already has. The shit talk about their riders was explaining why they are a meme.

Some serious cognitive dissonance going on if you claim to love riding but only under perfect conditions. Its like saying you're a great fan of soccer but only if its Manchester United vs FC Eintracht Norderstedt on February 28th at 18 celcius during a lunar eclipse.

Yes, you do. The good thing about the picture is that you can barely see a bike in the distance overwelmed by the sorroundings.

So clutchless upshifting is safe right?

>accelerate
>hold up on the shift lever
>chop throttle
>shifts up
>release shifter
>accelerate again
this is how to correctly do it? Is it bad if you don't release the shifter before accelerating again?

Meh, I daily my Italian sport-naked in the PNW.
It's not too bad.
>>
>>17088217
Don't do it all the time, but yes that's how it's done, clutchless down shifting is widely the same as engine matching, just not using the clutch, though that's very easy to mis-judge and grind gears.
