Had 230k on my Saturn before it was burning to much oil to keep. If it wasnt so ugly I would have gotten the engine rebuilt, hell of a reliable car.

I had a geo prism with 455k roll into my shop for an oil change the other week

256,603 on my 2011 Duramax. Have a CEL on w/ po191. All 3 fuel regulators need to be replaced. Local stealership quote me $6000 for all 3. They would give $8000 in trade for it.

transmission is starting to go. it late shifts first gear constantly and going into second is super jerky. besides that it's pretty solid.

Preventative maintenance, a uniform driving style, and proper care.

Mostly freeway driving helps.

Getting close to 250k miles.
Needs:

>pass head resurfaced
>valve stem seals
>maybe rings
>driver side cat
>thermostat
>probably water pump

I've ignored it all for 20k miles so far, I'll get to it eventually

You can just keep replacing shit, but once you need to replace half the shit on the car and it cost 10k to repair people usually buy a new car. Although eventually the unibody might wear out where stuff screws into it.

In about 8k more miles, my car will be brand new again.

Its a mystery how many miles are actually on it.

My personal highest was 195k on my Dakota RT but my mother has a Stratus with 515k on the original engine and transmission.

Still baffles me.

I have 42k miles in my '13 Focus, bought it with 29k last year, I've beed driving a lot delivering packages for my dads company, travelling, driving uber for extra cash, etc.

I dunno man its worth like $400. Nothing is new on it but the serpentine belt and battery and the oil. I wish it would just not start one day like it died in its sleep. It refuses to die even though its like 124 years old in truck years.
