Sounds like scorched cylinder wall.
Time for a rebuild if it has wet sleeves, otherwise new block, pistons and rings
>>17084598
Is the some coming out of the rocker cover or dip stick?
What colours your coolant?
>>17084704
how much would it cost to rebuild it all?
>>17084707
greenish i guess,i'll take a look
>>17084598
Seems like a leak. It might be the head gasket.

shitty bait thread
kys and go back to /b/

Do the revs get super bouncy and inconsistent when you add throttle? if so head gasket.
has your car been overheated at any point in the past? M52's had some cooling system issues.
sounds like a blown head gasket
Have any of your fluid levels dropped?
Any smoke out of the exhaust?
Is there a check engine light? Could be something simple like a coilpack, ht leads, spark plugs or even fuel injector, causing a misfire.

It's the aluminium block M52? If yes, then you are fucked.
>>17084852
yea they kinda do car shakes a little
>>17084916
nop i've been driving it carefully, did one skid recently, before the problems began to appear
>>17084951
not that i know, only oil since its leaking.no check engine lights only abs ,but its been on at all times, exhaust fumes smells like burning oil
>>17084953
i guess not since its 1997 523
>>17084835
why are you like this?just trying to fix my car
>>17085005
1995 5 series had nikasil blocks
1996+ has alu blocks

Could be the crank case breather valve, they are fairly common on the M54 engines and not too much to sort.
If it hasn't overheated then it is unlikely to be the head gasket. Is it using coolant, and is there any mayo type stuff under the oil filler cap?

Apologies, meant to say M52. Get it to a specialist who knows what they are doing, you might get lucky. When mine went it felt down on power and sounded like there was a vacuum leak but I know symptoms can vary. Parts and labour at a BMW specialist (NOT a main dealer) was £260 all in when I had it done a couple of years ago

okay big thanks to you all.No mayo type stuff, the lid is kittke dirtsy, brownish from inside though.Coolant is fine and no overheating,no issues like that.Drove it recently to the shop today, stuttery and no power when i accelerate, only first 2 gears feels like it has a little bit of power.
