Visiting from /fit/ here /o/ because I need some help. I've been looking i to going to a few of my local track days and i am in need of a new car to take. My budget is low because for my first track car I don't want to spend too much.
I was thinking of getting a mazda mx-5 because i hear they are pretty fun and good to start with. Anyone help with id tbey are any good or is this a poor choice?

If you're gonna be doing drift events I would actually recommend a late 90s Chevy suburban or pickup.

Tracking your car is expensive, full stop. There's no getting away from it if you're new, experienced, or a crafty old geezer who can bodge together engines from scrap metal. Even if you want to do a 24h Lemons event, you'll be shitting moneys.

Try to get a 95 or above NA. The 1.8 makes a huge difference.

Look dude, you're going to be putting down at least 5k by the time you see a track. Try guns. You can make it to a range with your own weapon for less than $200 and go up from there. Cars are fucking expensive no matter what.
