Agreed. I made the mistake of putting an Alcantara Sparco wheel in a DD once, it was disgusting within a few months and never felt that good with bare hands anyway. Alcantara is only good with racing gloves on, for anything else leather is superior.

It's possible to clean it, you just can't let the soiling sit or build up. The problem is that if you're not cleaning up the mess soon after it happens or cleaning it at least once a month it will look like shit very fast.
