/o/ what percent of your monthly pay do you spend on a car?
>>17058198
$20
>>17058198
5-7% of my takehome pay or less depending on the month
>>17058198
About 20% more than I spend on housing but I'm going to be selling my truck this year so it will come way down.
Including insurance 15% of my monthly take home pay but I live rent free in my parents old house.
$555 including insurance
so 35%?
>paying insurance
Enough to make me want to cry. Not that I have to though, I'm trying to pay it off as fast as I can.
>>17058256
>35% of your pay on a car
Enjoy being broke by 50
>>17058281
how's that
>>17058302
it's an insane amount to pay for a car. Even rent should only be 30%
$40+$50 insurance on the two cars. Plus probably $30 for fuel and $20 for general repairs.
So 2% or so.
>>17058313
my rent is $100/month right now. I rent out a condo and have roommates. I also live with my gf of 3 years who makes 3x more money than me.
>>17058329
so you make $7000/month take home and drive an '81 honda?
why
>>17058357
>my rent is $100/month right now
wew, jelly as fuck, keep living the trailer park ferrari dream.
>>17058357
If you don't mind me asking what do you drive?
>>17058365
Because why not? And it's a 1991 Nissan
>>17058383
>trailer park ferrari dream
hahaha, nice
I actually live in a nice rural area away from mexicans and niggers outside Sun City, Arizona. The rent is 1050, but worth more than that. It's a long story but I know the owner and so I got a good price to rent the place.
>>17058400
If you don't care, I don't care.
I just know that if I were making that much money I'd be driving my dream car.
42% - as the full price
>taking a loan for a car
ishygddt
>>17058412
Heh just because you make money doesn't mean you should just buy all the toys you want.
I am little over 600k and I am not going to spend money on my dream car.
Going to wait few years for fun daily, I just can't see myself spending lots of money on cars
>>17058412
What's your dream car? I get a little anxious driving expensive cars around. A beater is liberating.
>>17058452
nothing really expensive, just the T/A 392.
~0%
I'm too lazy to do much work on it, so I don't buy parts often.
>>17058412
> $5000/month
> $1000 project shitbox that hasn't left the driveway in two years
> ride a bike to work
I'm sort of waiting for the RX-9.
>>17058198
Maybe 10% if you include insurance. I have some months where I do special projects for it or the regular maintenance that raises that but it's not by much
>>17058448
600k?
600k what? Yen?
>$100 a month on insurance
>$80 a month on gas
>$50 a month on miscellaneous (repairs, oil, washings)
I bring in about $2000 a month net, so about 11% of my monthly income.
I make about 50k pretax and spend about $400 with insurance
>borrowing money for a depreciating asset
>>17058474
>600k what? Yen?
>$5500 usd
Miata fags pls go
My dti is currently 0. You'll be hard pressed to find a good lender about 60%. I think I'm going to finance a used abarth though soon and I'm looking to have a dti of about 15%, which is entirely reasonable
>>17058487
>Not investing and beating your loan rates.
>Not taking free money to make money.
>Spending your capital now on a depreciating asset
>>17058487
If you are willing to spend a certain amount of money on a car, and you can get a loan that is cheaper or on par for inflation, financing is totally fine.
Besides, good credit and having a long file will help you get a mortgage
>>17058509
>get a mortgage
>spending more on the cost of borrowing and maintenance than rent
shiggy diggy
>>17058514
Yet then you end up with a tangible asset you get to keep and sell.
>>17058487
>Not enjoying your life when you're able to
Obviously things like housing and food comes first, but you can't take your money with you once you're dead. Buying a nice car makes some people happy.
And I'm the guy with the cheap 2012 Focus a few posts up. But eventually I plan on buying a car that I actually want.
>>17058198
do you mean fuel or just general maintenance, bc if it's the former probably 120-140 dollars a month
>>17058221
Ontario fag
Whats good homie
>loancucks
>>17058198
On the essentials (fuel, insurance and maintenance) about 2.75% on my main car. About double that on each project car.
>>17058206
Doesn't understand percentages or the difference between car and bus pass. What an idiot.
>>17058221
>>17058599
Loling at your insurance right now
Outside of petrol and occasional maintenance, 0%.
Owning all your vehicles outright is a nice feel.
>>17058487
there really is nothing wrong with this if you know anything about finance
>>17058198
4% on fuel
1,6% on insurance
0,2% on maintainance
calculated on pay after taxes
>>17058599
That isn't my pic, I just own a BRZ. I didn't mean to get your hopes up. I am in the Northeast US tho.
>falling for the insurance meme
3500/month
260 for car
175 for insurance
Roughly 50 per month of fuel
So 14% all that included
Not sure the percentage but I pay like $70 for insurance. About it right now.
Soon I'll be spending.. uh roughly 25% I think. My cars kinds falling apart so I'm financing out a "used" car through my bank.
100% of my monthly regret
>>17058198
14% of my net take-home, including payment, insurance, and fuel.
A lot because I'm still in training and paid like a slave. But it's not that much in absolute numbers, maybe 40 eurobucks each for fuel and insurance, plus whatever the irregular stuff adds up to. Maybe 120 eurobucks a month, depreciation notwithstanding. I'd have to drive a scooter if I wanted even cheaper transportation.
I spend ~$30/mo on bike insurance, and maybe $50 in fuel
