Fuel cutoff is such an amateur way of reducing RPMs. It's a good way to tell whether or not your car is a piece of shit. A proper car would never use fuel cut off.

You ever have your fuel cut off in the lower gears? Your car bounces back and forth as it fights between engine braking and accelerating. Shit sucks.

I don't know how sport bikes and luxury cars do it but it's not the same way.

That's actually kinda high. My 3spd w/od 120hp shitbox does sub 3k rpm at those speeds. A Corvette is barely above 1000rpm at those speeds. Long, high gearing with a lot of torque is a good combination. I don't know if I could live with a BRZ doing 4000rpm at those speeds.
