These cars rust, the wiring has a tendency to degrade over time thanks to some retarded design, they're a tad heavy for the suspension and like I said; they are old

On the other hand they are decently built with a very solid drivetrain, they drive nicely, parts are very easy to get a hold of and they're surprisingly simple to work on

I have a 1998 C 180 base model. Only real problem it has is rust. Mine hasn't reached 150k km yet, but I hear these cars can do pretty high mileage if maintained well so you are probably fine.
Do check for rust regularly on the underside of the doors, on the boot lid, the wheel arches, the sills and the spring mounts and take action if you find any.
Special protip: The wiper motor on this car can fail if it's old and has never been greased. I regreased mine preemptively but it turned out the PO was a good boy and had already done it ;)
