Someone totalled my brand new KIA in a wreck. I decided it wasn't worth the note and took the insurance money instead of having it repaired, I'm sure they'd have done a shit job anyway. So i bought a shitbox with neat wheels and it's way more fun than the Kia and cheaper too

>>17046076
Yeah I like it. Had 150k on when I got it but prior owner was nuts with repairs and stuff. He had records of the transmission being serviced every 30,000 miles, same with all the oil change receipts at a dodge dealer.

Right now it's probably gonna need a head gasket replacement and a new cat converter but I'm getting a Veloster Turbo for a daily. This is gonna come off the road and become a project car. Hopefully when it's done I'll have a turbo charged, manual Charger LX. It's something me and my dad wanna do.

Good shit then. I had an 06', and the piece of shit would destroy its own water pump every 30000 miles. By the time I had my first water pump replaced was when I found out that every single 06' Charger had the problem.

Thankfully Dodge fixed that shit right away, because I still like the body style quite a lot.
>>
>>17046128
Oh yeah, the LX design is x10 better than the shit they have now.

What kills me is the dip in the doors on the new one. It doesn't even look like a Charger honestly. At least the 06-10 look like a modern styled Charger.

Lexus LS 430

Had a second child, and quickly realized that I needed something as reliable as my old TSX, but A LOT larger, but not a truck or a van.

I really wanted the Acura RL or a TL-SHAWD. Even found a 6mt TL-SHAWD, but the lexus popped up nearby, I did a little reading, and it had 50k miles on it, and it fit the car seats better than anything else. So I bought it.

It was a good move. But, honestly the car is a bit larger and floater than I like. Not a complaint. Must a preference. Once the kiddos are older, I'll be trading on a Lexus GS. Hopefully the one with the 5 liter V8. I'm definitely sold on the brand. Have already picked up a CPO rx350 for wife.

8th Gen Accord Coupe

Most reliable car I could get with my budget. Also SLIGHTLY less dull than your standard Corolla.

Also its the most fuel efficient car I could find that I could actually fit inside of, being 6'8". Frankly I would have gotten a Miata NC if I were only a few inches shorter.

Everyone says I should get a truck or SUV but god do I hate them, hate them so much.

I had an old Mercedes. It was a tad rusty, but it always ran. It had a problem from time to time, but never truly let me down. It was, for me, the perfect commuter when I was studying as it ran quite cheap, was cheap to insure and ran perfectly

After finishing my studies I moved back to my home town, and although I had known for about a year it would be like this; I found that it was not a suitable vehicle for me. .

The winters here are tougher, and I often have to go on roads that havent been plowed
I need to both carry and tow, neither of which the Benz was any good at
I wanted something simpler
I wanted a manual transmission

Thus I started looking at SUVs and pickups, quickly finding that the Nissan Navara would get me the most bang for the buck.

After trying out a few Navaras I made a discovery; they're fucking shit

Thus, after travelling a total of 6.5 hours to look qt a rusty Nissan I made a stop 15 minutes away from my home, with the goal to look at a Toyota Hilux which looked nothing special in the ad, and had been for sale for two months

That Hilux turned out to be in really great condution, and thus it became mine

I used to a E36(328 coupe) that was starting to show it´s age. Dad had a C-class diesel Mercedes with the sportpack, so it´s lowered. Moms knees start to act up, so they need a normal height car. Dad suggest that we swap cars and he trades my old BMW for a new(er) BMW from the official dealer(dealers give you a better deal, around here, if you stay with the brand). So basically I got my Mercedes for 10K€ under the market price. My BMWs trade-in value was 3700€ and the market price for the Mercedes, at the time, was about 14000€. Something about horses, gifts, mouths and looking.

I drive an 04 wrx. couldn't even drive a manual or had a desire to drive one before I got it.

Just before I got it I was watching initial D and fell in love with the color and look buntas car when he was car shopping.

I then started car shopping and after a few months bought the 04 lol. I don't know shit about cars (I'm not even 100% sure where the turbo is located) but I know I absolutely love my car now.

was planning on giving it the sti wing and side skirts but I'm loving it the way it is. not even sure if I will put an exhaust on it (my car is stock) . may have my wheels painted gold though.

2002 WRX Wagon

Drove an Outback wagon before and decided I wanted the smaller, faster, better-handling version of the car.

I had looked for and driven a Forester XT and an Outback XT but they were all very expensive and didn't handle all that great.

Honestly, I wish I'd kept the Outback - The speed is cool and the turbo really helps in driving around where I do (mountain roads) but the extra room is very nice and the ride is much smoother in the bigger wagon. I also didn't feel as bad about beating the shit out of the Outback, where I care a bit about the WRX. Then again, I only paid $1900 for the outback and $5000 for the WRX, so...

Had to move down south for a job out of uni and my 200k mile Cavalier wasn't going to cut it.
I bought a 2016 Civic ext, but if I had to do it over again I may have gone with a Mazda3 or just gotten a used FJ cruiser or something.
The car's great and all and gas mileage is killer, but I just want something different for some reason.
If the v6 accord were rwd, I'd buy one asap

The old man owns a 1.6GLI, and clocked 395000km on it while I grew up, still not a single rust spot and drives like a champ.

We always worked together on it, every needed component has been serviced, overhauled or replaced at some point, for cheap, which means, considering the fact that I have a company vehicle and I drive less than 10000km per year on my DD (80000km now), I'll be able to keep this car alive and well for maybe the next 20 to 30 years, given It's never totalled, parts can be sourced and they don't forbid fossil fuel powered cars in the meantime.

Not saying that's what I'll do necessarily, but it's a nice feeling to drive a car with that kind of confidence.

When I was a little guy I grew up around mustangs as my family are all Ford people. Grandfather was a line worker at Ford and my Great Grandfather was a master mechanic at the Ford dealership where I live. My love for all things mustang runs so deep it makes me smile every time I drop a gear and make that engine roar.

I've owned a couple s13s, and I love them, but now they're all priced at 3x what a rational human would pay for what is realistically a 25 year old econobox that makes 140hp, so I bought the truck version. It's just as slow, doesn't handle great, but it's something you don't quite see every day.
>>
>>17045619
Mine is because of a love of horse trading cars. Been driving the same Buick Century for almost 2 years and totalled it. Got 800 from the insurance payout. Bought a 01 Explorer with 350k miles that was in rough shape but ran well for 500. Spent an afternoon washing and detailing and traded it for a 03 Dakota V8 extended cab with 200k miles and was in decent shape because the guy needed a family car. Had the Dakota listed for 1500 so did pretty well. Traded the Dakota to a guy with a 94 integra with less than 20k miles on rebuilt engine and transmission that needed nothing but paint. Had it listed for 2000. Again did pretty well. Got the teg painted and drive it now. Kept it because it is fun as shit to drive, is manual, and gets 33mpg hwy. No ragrets

>>
>>17053501
It's all a bit of practice and a bit of luck. Most of the time you can find cars that are basically ok for less than a thousand. Might need elbow grease or a bit of mechanic work but are easy to talk down a couple hundred dollars. Then do exactly that. Fix it up a bit without dumping much more money into it. Re list it for trade and see what bites. Rinse and repeat moving up with each trade. If you find something you want to keep, do it, and start over. Not too hard. Just do yourself a favor and do not buy cars from color. It sounds shitty but it will bite you in the ass every time. I know from experience.

Black people have no concept of proper maintenance. I have personally driven a Buick LeSabre 545k miles on the original engine and transmission. I've seen Niggers neglect the maintenance so bad second hand that these things are falling apart at 110k miles. It really is an accomplishment to kill a 3800 though, so I guess there is that.

I bought it because it was cheap, has nice off-road capabilities for a mall crawler and it looks really good.
I'm selling it at the moment so I can get something better I got it for a real bargain and I can make money by selling it (no joke)
>pic related
>>
>>17054159
Why would you sell it? 2.0 tsi 4 motion sounds good to me! I really like that gen Tiguan if it has some options, a good looking car.

the new ones look like a little q7
>>
>>17054168
I never bought it with the intention to keep it. Don't get me wrong it's a great car, the 2.0l tsi mixed with the 4motion system and the stiff suspension is one hell of a ride.
But as a student I don't need such car and because of my retarded driving style it guzzles a lot of gas (13-15l/100km).
The wired thing is at night the Tiguan gets plenty of looks, people think it's a Audi or some other high end car.

My E46 shit the bed and I was fed up with its bullshit.
Bought a very lightly used 2014 V6 Mustang that had some good upgrades that the dealer didn't mark up for ($700 HU + $350 in associated parts, nicer wheels than stock). My only issue with it is the holes for the spoiler has rust around it so I need to do away with that somehow and plug it with a silicone plug / dowel and I'll be happier.

Child when you graduate high school and stop spouting off memes you only hear other people say, you'll realize financing anything over 10k is a good thing with low to zero interest.

If you're out of high school I now understand why the average person is so poor or doesn't invest. You're a damn idiot.

Maybe it's because he's poor?

If someone's budget is tight (because they're poor or have other shit financed, like a house, or an education) they can save up and buy one big item, but they don't have enough monthly income to finance and can only manage by saving even more money (because interest) as reserve to draw from so they can fit the payments into their budget. leaving them, guess what, nothing left to invest.

>but if they lived like a pauper and only went to community college they could invest! god why can't poor people just live like the peasants they are!?
