I currently have a 1993 Aerostar and a couple sports cars. I realized I love having a big car as a backup. I'd like to get something newer to replace it. Goal is;
1. Automatic.
2. Capable of towing a car.
3. Somewhat fuel efficient when not towing.. (Aerostar gets 18/24. More than that would be nice)
4. Big enough to sleep in.
5. Japanese; I prefer working on japanese cars, but if there's a simple, somewhat reliable domestic counterpart I'll consider that.
Any recommendations?

I prefer a Van or SUV style for the "sleeping in" matter.

I'll say that it's going to tow once a year at most.
what's the purpose of these tow dollies that put miles on your car as you tow it?

Wait what? lol

I was actually heavily considering this.

maybe that's only old ass cars

anything with rwd and a cable-driven speedo. So yes, old ass cars.

OH lmao I didn't understand what you were saying. I didn't even think of that, but, yeah, I bet analog tachs back in the day had that issue.
How much for your Aerostar?

I'm not even sure how much I'd sell it for. My mom was the only owner, and I've barely driven it since she gave it to me. Has 172k miles, and she was a nazi with maintenance and repairs. She REFUSED to get rid of it.

I'm in Indiana. If you're close, I'd definitely be interested.

i guess i've only towed old ass cars, never put too much though into it but always flatbed
It's not Jap but Crown Victorias with the towing package can tow 5k lbs so you should at least consider that.
I have a 2008 4Runner that I've towed cars with, even did a repo with it kek
