Where's your advanced overengineered steel spaceframe?
Oh right. You don't have one.
>>17034473
Ah, Pontiac. I remember when you could buy one of these brand new for 35k but no one wanted it. Such a shame. I really wish GM canned Buick instead, but apparently old rich people buy more new cars than young poor people.

Fix'd
>>17034602
>didn't want one at the time because I loved my '79 T/A
>now as a proper adult with a house and shit I want one bad, because of how practical yet fun they are
younger me why were you such a dingdong
still love my '79 though

Suck a dick Toyota scum.
GM reviving Pontiac. Likely? Possible?
It's probably for the best that it stays dead, isn't it?
>>17035339
I think it's possible. GM still keeps the Pontiac and Saturn websites up with live chat.
The 3400 is shit. Don't let any shill covince you it's better than the 3800
>>17035355
The 1960s are over grandpa. Take your 3800 back to the 60s with you in your Frigidaire time machine/refrigerator
403 Olds gets a bad rap. Engine is perfectly fine if a bit of an underperformer compared to the 400, but once you pull all the emission garbage off it, it's well fun.
>>17035339

What are the chances the mid-engine corvette mule will be announced as the Pontiac Banshee and not a Cadillac?

I miss 80's pontiac, back when they were still exciting
This isn't Pontiac related but I'm in a 80's mood now
Ayyy
I've owned 2 pontiacs so far, first one was a real shitbox but I loved it

Been looking at a 2002 T/A V8 6-speed, and it's super clean, and beautifully stock. It's going for $8750. Before cracking open my wallet. Anything I should make sure to look over?

>>17038704
Not sure if he used this site, but they have a bunch of brochures for obscure American shit.

How many miles on it? I paid a little over that for mine, same year and model
No regrets so far
>>17039373
150K, I actually just went down there an hour ago. Talked the shit for a bit, and managed to get it all the way down to $7500.
>tfw no third gen firebird
>>17039395
That fucking feel.
It gets worse for me because I'm poor and I can't justify buying another car right now because mine is fine. I just want to look aesthetic as fuck.
>>17039452
All the ones in my area are fucking expensive because boomers are selling them as collectible vehicles :(
>>17039473
Most of the ones here run from 2000-9000, so it's not too bad.
>>17038124
thats the 5.7 right? Pretty bulletproof

But that 7-band EQ is pretty dope
>>17039574
>>17039581
Yeah it does but that wouldn't be my reaction, my Grand Am was a broke ass piece of shit. I was actually upset I had to replace the deck with an aftermarket one for an aux cable because the EQ sliders are pretty cool desu.
>>17039628
>my Grand Am was a broke ass piece of shit.
Mine too.
Windows didn't roll down, air conditioning and heat didn't work, etc
But I loved that car.
>>17039628
Shitty GA's are a best.
Pontiac collage when?
>>17039525
The cheapest I've seen by me is $7k but they're usually $12k-$15k
>>17038704
I got them from here

are 04+ GTP's decent as a cheap DD?
260hp, few bolt ons could put it over 300
comp G package makes the handling better
can be found for 3K or so
>>17042113
They are decent, if you don't mind the fact the engine will sound like shit outside of the supercharger whine
>>17042113
got an 05 GTP recently and it's in a pretty beat condition. It's a truly awesome car, but prepare to start fixing tons of little nuisances that comes with an older car. My repair list keeps growing but it's all manageable so far. love this thing so damn much though.

Also, China drives LHD.
>>17043409
Dude, it looks like an Asian baby in a booster seat, he's not driving
>>17043417
Car's also not moving either.
>>17043420
This as well
Why were the Trans in these cars such shit?
>>17044263
Aside from some notable exceptions, GM always had trouble with transverse FWD automatics. Had GM stuck in a manual, it would've been fine. The 4T80e was the most reliable FWD automatic GM had, but it was meant for the Northstar V8. The 4T80 was also huge in comparison to the 4T65eHD they used.
Again, had they just used a manual, they wouldn't have had a problem, but manuals don't sell, so it would've been pointless.

>>17045041
Thanks senpai was my dad's car... currently working on getting a 383 stroker built for it
>>17045054
>383 stroker
why? Why not just build up a 350? I've said before, but I think strokers are pointless.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vPBs_QB6ubI
>>17045077
Idk, I'm still thinking of possibly doing a 350 and calming it but I'm working on supporting mods first I.e. frame connectors and sourcing a rear end so I can get rid of my shitty 2.41 rear gears
>>17045077
Sorry I ment camming
>>17045101
Personally, I like destrokers.
I'd grab a 350 block and put in a 283 crankshaft. Make a nice, high revving 302 with some high flowing heads, a good camshaft, and a good intake manifold with fuel injection. Lots of fun.
That's me though. I think strokers are pointless. A 350 with those same parts would be fun, but I like high RPM screamers. High RPM screamers are pretty exclusive to big bore, small stroke engines
>>17045133
Be careful with your turn indicator. Notorious for snapping.
>>17045136
Still be a while before I get that far if you'd like I'll check in every once in a while with a pic or two. I work to much to post alot (12 hr days 6 days a week). Im an ase master tech, that went into military and areospace perscision machining, and cause Im in a good mood I'll give u a pic of the boat anchor of an 403, in the thing
>>17045162
Ben there.... Done that...... Thrice
>>17035267
woult be nicer without those ricer wheels and fender.
>>17045170
here. Have a video of glorious 302 V8 noise coming from an SCCA Trans Am prepped 302 powered Chevy Camaro Z/28 race car

>>17045296
That's pretty sweet, thanks I'll check in sooner or later again with some updates untill next time I guess
>>17045177
Damn. Once here. Then again, it'd probably be more but I fixed it by sticking locking pliers to the bit left on and called it a day.

Random semi-off-topic question, but I kind of miss my old 99 Grand Prix GTP after driving a dodge truck for the last 4 years. What modern (~2014^) car is likely going to be as nice as my old grand prix, but still be a tank in the winter snow. Never once got that car stuck.
>>17045874
most tracks have sound restrictions, bud.
Laguna's is just retardedly low
>>17045054
hey Trans-am-kun, Please, please consider researching propane injection. It is easy, and good. Please ignore people who have never done it. Trucks and 3000gt/ 3SI have done it much. Just do 2 things, get good insulation for your container, and keep it in the trunk, strapped where your spare would go, and run a line. Dont try and keep it anywhere else. no more dangerous than NOS or a spare fuel tank/ cell.
>>17045922
What's the consensus on Firebird's with headlight conversions?
>>17046214
I personally love the popups. From what I found, it's that nostril-like hood people dislike.
>>17038124
The rear is probably about to go.
Offer 5 grand, don't pay more than six.
>>17046221
I really don't get that. It's what makes the car cool. Even then, it's only something you saw on WS6 cars.
Speaking of which, I'm considering trying to hunt down an SS hood for my Z28. The scoops on those (and the WS6 hoods) are functional, the problem is getting the air from the hood into the airbox.
